Original Black Sabbath making new album

The band is currently in the studio recording vocals with Rick Rubin. There are 15 songs that have been written, and according to Geezer Butler, 12 of them will make the record, most likely with the additional three serving as bonus tracks for different special editions.

Apparently, guitarist Tony Iommi completed all 15 guitar tracks during the band's sessions in England earlier this year, and judging by the way most bands record, that would mean drums are done as well. Ozzy and Geezer are working to complete the tracks in five song increments, with the first five being worked on currently.

Ozzy is tracking vocals, with bassist Geezer Butler writing all the lyrics. One song title has been confirmed and it's "God Is Dead."

So can these old bastards fall ass-backwards into something brilliant?  If they do, it will be because they kept it simple, if not it's cause they got too cute.  For my money, Black Sabbath was best on tracks like Electric Funeral or Into the Void.  This thread is now open to wild speculation and predictions that will most likely turn out wrong.

The last couple of new songs the original lineup put together some few years back impressed me as a picking up where they last left of together in the late 70s. They bridged the gap between the Technical Ecstasy and Never Say Die albums to the present. Now they may proceed to where they may have gone during the years when Dio was up front instead.
