I'm inclined to believe it. Isn't autism more a state of mind/set of behaviors. Doesn't it stand to reason that though an autistic individual's natural tendencies are vastly different than the normal person's, they can still learn and mimic their behavior. This external behavior is all that can be tested, it stands to reason that these individuals would still have thought patterns largely of an autistic person interrupted with a few normal patterns, at least enough to appear superficially normal and be able to make it anywhere in society.

The instance you show appears to be an easing of suffering by getting the unfortunate kid high. They might as well if they're going to keep someone alive that really should be euthanized. However, I can imagine cannabis and other psychoactive chemicals enabling empathy and self-analysis which would allow an autistic person to break free of their debilitating thought patterns.
