Being engulfed in flames must be awful... Up until the point that the nerves are destroyed, they are firing nonstop signals to the brain that say "your body is being flambéd!" To which the brain responds sensations of the most agonizing kind. These women experienced the outer limits of pain for a few brief minutes.

I wonder if they managed to muster up enough cognizance to beg God for mercy, or if the sheer terror and pain was too great to even think.
