Yes, I read about this earlier today. Glad to live in Denmark, where political correctness isn't quite as ludicrous as in Sweden. It's still bad, though. Things aren't looking too good.

Ah, the irony. The leftist descent into nightmare, inverted - as always - into utopia.
Imagine: fleeing from Somalia, to Sweden, then fleeing from Sweden, back to Somalia.
Hopefully, they will all do that, throughout the West, when they finally discover what a can of worms the West has become.
And perhaps - in a best-case scenario - take all the leftists with them.

Democracy is just a pit stop on the road to tyranny, and this is a perfect example in action.

Is it disaster?  I wonder if the universe will even notice.

In the grand scheme of things, there is no such thing as 'disaster'. But from the perspective of a sane individual, this is just stupid. The multicultural society is a lost cause - even immigrants are starting to see this. Maybe this escape back to Somalia will set a positive example.

A disaster is only a true disaster, if it can't inspire the beginning of something better.

Life is a lost cause.  That's what makes it beautiful.

Life is infinitely many things - including beautiful and a lost cause. But the beautiful is not necessarily a lost cause, just as the lost causes aren't necessarily beautiful. Multiculturalism is a lost cause, and it is not a beautiful one.

Like any political ideal, it is lovely as an ideal, less lovely in practice.  But that's sort of life in a nutshell, no?

Personally I would say it's more like the other way around: Life is lovely in practice, less lovely as an ideal. And I wouldn't even really say that.

No, that's not life in a nutshell. A nut is life in a nutshell.

Why do you think that life in a nutshell is: 'Lovely as an ideal, less lovely in practice?'

Life is a series of failures, mishaps, errors, fuck-ups and let downs—broken by the occasional triumph—from which we derive meaning.  Or don't.  It isn't just beautiful in spite of its costs, it is beautiful because of its costs.  Europe was a grand dream, but it is a spent force.  There's no horror or shame in this, it's just...life.

I understand your perspective.

Europe is a lost cause as a grand universalist ideal.

But there is also another Europe. One that lives in the herbs and roots. Maybe even still in a few hearts and minds. That's the real one.

It's not some sentimental fantasy, like the European 'idea'. It's just something worth fighting for. A special sense of love/order/intelligence. Almost all have forgotten that this Europe exists at all. But it's still here, whether we remember it or not.

Do we only think of things in terms of the large universe when we want to ignore the heavy implications?

Cousin marriage in Islam lowers IQ, and their religion is much less malleable than Christianity. Sharia Law is barbaric. Make what you will.

That Europe is impervious to emphemera like immigration and modern culture.  It doesn't have to be "fought for"; it just is, and nothing will change that.  You cannot encompass spirit within a physical body, which is why, in the end, nationalism has left nothing behind but blood needlessly shed.  The "Europe" that can be "fought for" is nothing but a scrap of dirt and whoever might be squatting on it at the moment.  The "Europe" that you long for can't be fought for or guarded or protected or preserved; you can either live it, or not.  But the choice is yours.
