To the guy who promoted NOISE MUSIC here

In the spirit of the new found brotherhood floating around these parts, I will just say I don't enjoy any of the music brought up here and leave it at that.
Liberalism is moral syphilis.

- Jonathan Bowden

"Anyway, after my set, I walked offstage and saw him (aphex twin) sitting down with a beer. I’m like, “Fuck, if there was any time to just say hi…” So I go up to him: “Hey, I just wanted to say you had a great show.” He doesn’t even look at me and then walks off. My heart breaks."

This guy must be trolling. It has to be the case.

How have we gone from noise to Justin Timberlake in this thread?

I have no idea why you would recommend any of that to me, it's completely out of the field of anything I would find worthwhile to listen to.

Here is some actual noise music.

I thought you were exhilarated that the first skrillex song had come up because you enjoyed it. The song is not so bad, but I agree the mix is kinda bad.

But the Toro y Moi is actually not so bad. And justin timberlake more because of the voice and because it's pop, but depeche mode is a good influence, depeche mode is a good band. Violator great album.
You're quite hostile.

I got a right to be hostile, man, my people been persecuted!

Don't ever take these events personally. They hardly ever are.
Squawk!

It would have been very personal in this case, if this anecdote is true. Aphex Twin is an older electronic music producer with depth and artistry. Skrillex is a younger guy who commercialised and vulgarised electronic music (primarily the sub-genre of dubstep - mixing it with really bad electro-pop) in the last 5 years, turning it into aggressive, ugly, mechanical, crass stuff. In biblical terms, Aphex Twin is the Lord. Skrillex is Lucifer, whose selfishness and hubris led him to break from the Light.

Compare Aphex Twin: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AWIqXzvX-U
with Skrillex: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSeNSzJ2-Jw

That two hour mix which I said I could enjoy 20 minutes of is really bad. It's mechanical, etc. but it can be kinda fun. That being said I agree it's bad and of course aphex twin is better. But Scary Monsters and nice sprites I like, also the song Kill Everybody. The thing with pop artists is that only some songs stick out.

Now if you like Aphex Twin it's not so hard to enjoy a good album like Violator. And the Toro Y Moi is just good Pop Music. Not more, not less. It's good to hear this stuff for analysis, it doesn't mean I love it or do not know their place, which is not metal boards. But this is Chasm area anything goes, and it's good to hear different music even if just to analyze it.

You're quite hostile.

Bwahahahaha, Aphex Twin knows Skrillex is worthless. That dubstep is bastardized European electronica made with stupid drops and all sorts of wub wub wubbery.

Not a big fan of AT's new stuff, but the Selected Ambient Works albums (I & II) are excellent.
No.

Having reviewed the thread, baby Jesus is most definitely weeping at this point.

As far as noise music is concerned, I have no greater recommendation than Alberich.

"To be the Strongest"

Also I'll recommend the Finnish label Filth & Violence with artists like Bizarre Uproar, Xenophobic Ejaculation and Sick Seed for especially brutal material and Danish label Posh Isolation with artists like Croatian Amor, LR and Damien Dubrovnik for more subtle, ambient and still "necro" sounds.

I'll check it out. Below is the topic about Eternal Champ, I wanted to post it here but I thought this topic got deleted.

There is a real cool album, I'd like to get your thoughts about it.

It is nothing like skrillex. It is called Eternal Champ, by Sweet Valley. Their first album is not good. This is their second album.

It is really a refreshing listen. If people here ultimately don't like it, I'll get valuable insight into your mentalit and never promote stuff that is dissonant here again.

But I doubt it. It is even innovative, in it's own way.

I'd like to see what y'all think about it, y'all. Peace.

Below is my attempt at prozak-esque reviewing of the album:

***

Electric aqua-like waves ripple through a stone-cold surface on their way to hotness in this work by Sweet Valley. Production is a mix between hip hop and technodeath, while the melodies nostalgically recall the missing times of hyperborea, lemuriaMU and Atlantis while relating them to the current world (as those continents are meta-real). Sensuality is wisely used as to create a borderline paranormality that pushes the listener into the fringe of his own secret emotions, only to turn back violently at the shore crossing of the abyss, apparently reverting back to normal ways while actually expanding the neuron-structure of the listener beyond repair.

Mechanical blasting of factory-like sounds order themselves in a machine-like soul of controlled despair. Elevated to a thousand is the visionary mathematical Id, which interprets the sound while binding, bending and bounding the archetypes and it's own self, lost in the soul of the ocean of repeating sounds, where the listener finds its way into the maze of apparent repetitiveness, while actually being invited to taste Refresshingness.
You're quite hostile.
