Everybody knows what work is.
Or do they?
Many avoid it, because it has unpleasant connotations. A sometimes necessary evil.
I look at work differently...

Work is any action that results in something getting done, and that is a good thing, not a bad thing.
It doesn't matter what that thing is, that gets done; what matters is that it gets done.

I remember living an extremely marginal life, homeless, starving and destitute, in the Sonoran Desert.
I had little energy to spare, for such dreary things as work.
And so I made a deal with myself: I would endeavour to get one thing done, per day.

One thing may not seem like much, and of course, it isn't.
But it is what it is: One Thing.
And, as Lao Tzu observed:
The journey of a thousand miles, begins with a single step.

This seems rather healthy idea of work.

I've always seen work as pandering around some subject, making it look like your into something and then going home and telling your friends you worked today. Profit!

One thing a day, that's all I aim for these days.

Shame on you. Are you starving? Homeless? Destitute?
Or maybe just smarter than the average bear?
One thing a day is a good place to start, anyway, to get that one thing right.
Once you've got that down, you can juggle with more than one ball at a time.

You'll have to forgive my rudeness. The truth is I tried to juggle an infinite amount of balls, hence, now being back at square one. I guess that's called learning something the hard way. Admittedly it's quite a relief.

Even after firing up my rudeness-detector, I was unable to detect any rudeness.
Maybe I am past my prime as a forum admin.
Or maybe I just don't get it  :)
