Good to see another RP fan.

Nice! I have no idea why they aren't mentioned more in general. Demented, disturbing, and just plain WEIRD punk. Farce is fucking brilliant.
No.

Having reviewed the thread, baby Jesus is most definitely weeping at this point.

I don't know anyone in metal circles that really likes RP, most haven't even heard of them. Step outside of that and every punk/crustie drools.

Cacaphony is weird, an entire album about the life of HP Lovecraft set to the music of a schizophrenic, literally.

Mortuary Drape - All the Witches Dance

Wouldn't have found this without seeing that article on the homepage.

Was further drawn in by the old-school looking cover art.

Bulldozer - Day of Wrath

(Followed the youtube link to it)

Summoning - Minas Morgul.

Previously this album had come across to me as the band's most awkward release. Now it seems exceptional.

Yes. It's an interesting transitional work that retains some of the fiery energy of their debut while moving towards the epic, ambient, highly 'structured' material they are known for. I would probably put it up there with Dol Guldur for inspiration, but not 'refinedness'. It would actually be a really cool album to hear re-worked and re-recorded in their modern style.

Skepticism - Alloy

It's cold, grey, snowy, and bleak where I'm at. It seemed very fitting.

Listening to Creepmime - Shadows and Winter - Into Darkness. Two very different kinds of doom metal, and both bands that I think should have either continued in this vein and refined their music or at least strongly influenced some other outfit. Oh well, maybe in decade or two. I am sure Into Darkness had a DLA (or something) review, if anyone knows where I can find it, would be very appreciated. Creepmime was a late addition to the Archives, and for me was a chance recommendation that turned out to be an amazing, lasting album. Shadows is well worth a listen, it sounds a bit weepy like some doom metal can but under the surface its not like that at all.

If any one of you have missed either of these, give them a go.

Edit: A LARM review for Winter (not the one I am after) which is a bit spotty. Says there is no lead work, there is and some very interesting stuff to boot. Must mean big solos I suppose.
