Finnish and/or Polish Black Metal

Finnish and/or Polish Black Metal
August 19, 2016, 03:43:42 PM
Hello, Would anyone here know what demos, eps and albums are considered classic, essential or otherwise 'worthy' releases from the 90's Finnish and Polish Black Metal scenes? I already know of Behemoths early stuff as well as Beherit and Impaled Nazarene and of course the likes of Gontyna Kry, Veles and Barathrum. Any help would greatly appreciated.

It's very rough, but it has value beneath the rugged exterior.

I see. Are there any other releases you can also recommend?

Graveland is the only Polish black metal band I know of. I know no Finnish ones.

You can try some other Graveland albums, like Immortal Pride (1998).
They have one from 2013: Thunderbolts of the Gods.

Many people like their 1994 album Carpathian Wolves and their 1995 album Thousand Swords, but I haven't gotten in to those yet.

If you're going to check out Graveland albums I would suggest not to miss The Celtic Winter.

If you don't like one album, try the other ones. The different Graveland albums don't sound alike.

Veles is great!

Listen to 'Triumph of Pagan Beliefs'.

Thank you for all the recommendations. I've been doing some searching myself and came across these two: Nidhoggr (Finland) and Taranis (Poland) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0QLy-SZEmQ&list=PL0CA43A33C3CB1786&index=3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HwGlXqNn9Q0
