Isn't an 'aspie' someone who has no social skills at all, and needs some excuse to make, for the lack?

Is this a "my hobbies are such and such, I have cats, I like coffee." thread?

Do we really want to open the door to the usual ego-drama?

When we do that, the place becomes a community of personalities, not ideas.

At that point, the community is self-referential. It gets chummier and more popular, but it loses its icy focus.

This decision is bigger than it appears and I'm glad you summarized it so well.

If it devolves into total garbage just purge. Doesn't seem like that big of a deal.

Time to buy stocks in the Detia-Degesch GmbH!

I don't know about you guys, but I love my under-120s. They're so cute and funny. Just yesterday one stole my GPS unit and another one took a dump in my yard. Ha ha, they're such cards.

Are you sure we can't have both? In fact, we already sort of have both.

You can't have ideas without personalities.
Well, you could, but that would presuppose everybody being mature enough to dispense with their egos, in order to more clearly present their ideas.
And if you're going to presuppose something, it would be more realistic to presuppose people aren't mature enough, in general, to do that.
So you're stuck with the personalities.

BTW, what does 'metal' have to do with nihilism?
Is there a connection, or is this all some random happening?
I'm still trying to figure out what nihilism is.
'Metal' too, for that matter.

Look at it as gravity wells. We can be close to both Earth and moon but Earth's gravity well, we decide, predominates by far. We don't need to assume everything has to be one or the other, nor even a Lagrange point. Yet, do we even need the moon's gravity at all?

Lagrange point :)
Few would understand that.
I owe my understanding of it to reading James Blish, as a child. 'Cities in flight', I think.
French for: The Barn.
The place where external factors influence equally, what they influence, effectively neutralizing each other.
Need a break? Go find a barn. Hang out with the cows.

I exist in a kind of Lagrange point. Left-wing, right-wing, cancel each other out.
Suits me fine.

We try experiments here all the time. Here's the latest: a place to get to know each other, exchange some information and blow off some steam.

Rules:
1. No illegal stuff.
2. Anything you post that is so repetitive or stupid that it will bore our readers gets deleted.

What is this? Where do we get to know each other? What ideas are we supposed to exchange?

Is this the steam I am supposed to be looking for?

Sorry man. Pretty sure the head scratching thing is Aspie. Like the arm flapping thing.

That was a good one! And so is the extreme muscle building too! :P
