Optical art, fractals, et al can be fascinating, but those who seem to be most fascinated by this sort of art tend to be math majors. On the whole, it evokes kaleidoscopes, LSD, and fireworks; conversely, I find profundity in works with more color, vibrancy, and emotional content.
