The song, "Enigma," is singlehandedly more brilliant than anything from his first two albums. Hopefully, the rest of the album can match its evocative power.

I'd be very interested in anyone who has heard the albums opinion. I quite like it myself, the second half of the CD seems to be going in a very different (and better) direction than the first half.

I don't like the album. When listening to it, I found that most of the few riffs were boring to mediocre (and not even close to Filosofem-quality), there were some attempts at composition, but most of them failed. I had the feeling that excessive reverb was used to cover up compositional failure. After 3/4 of the album I switched to Wagner, who made my day.

Of course, as long as the criticism is constructive, and I agree with you on several points, the excessive reverb sounds too much like later Xasthur and every other Gay Midget Fecal Pr0n (GMFP) band. However the album does have its redeeming qualities toward the end.

I thought it was way better than his earlier work. The guitars sound a lot like they were on Wanderings, which surprised me considering that was 12 years ago, but I think the keyboards complement the guitars perfectly. Listening to it in the dark the night I got it was really enjoyable.
