If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Any direct mentions of ANUS have been deleted by the shithead collective at wikipedia, but maybe ANUS can use more subtle measures to promote itself. One of these ways is by fixing the Death Metal page on Wikipedia, which currently is a sorry state of affairs, recognizing Cannibal Corpse and Nile as "key artists", not to mention the fact that it spends more time talking about things that are totally unrelated such as Gaytheburg than death metal itself.

Since most people on this forum seem to be on the same page regarding what is good death metal and what is not, I think it would be in everyone's best interest if ANUS users who had the time and motivation to would contribute to that site and start educating the masses about what death metal really is.

I think sabotaging Wikipedia would be a better idea.

I think it's fair to link the genre pages from anus.com on any metal-related article that's relevant (death, black metal). We're the oldest metal site on the net and one of the most popular, by statistics. What could they (rationally) have against us?

Notoriety is against ANUS.

I think it's strange how something like this can have such a long, detailed article on wikipedia but every time ANUS gets added it is almost immediately deleted. It makes you think about the state of the world today.

WikiPedia's "Death Metal" entry has been edited ...to make it less insane...

Death metal is a type of music influenced by heavy metal music and hardcore punk that was born in the early 1980s but fully developed by the end of the decade.

Commonly recognized characteristics include rhythmic, chromatic progressions and a narrative or "story telling" song structure, such that there is not a verse-chorus cycle as much as an ongoing development of themes and motifs. Aesthetically, it is usually identified by violent rhythm guitar, fast percussion and dynamic intensity. "Blast beats" are frequently used to add to the ferocity of the music. The death grunts (guttural roars) or "growls" are distorted and incomprehensible. Similarly, those not familiar with the genre sometimes confuse it with "death rock", which is an entirely different musical classification altogether.

So far, that's all that has been changed, but it's an improvement in technical language and accuracy of topic. Please support us in this quest to get our favorite commie homosexual hippie democrat "open source" dictionary to recognize death metal, not for wackypedophile's sake but for death metal's.

Wikipedia somehow manages to get worse.

It is of no surprise that death metal is a mainstay in the gay and lesbian community. [citation needed] With the rise of AIDS and other deadly sexually transmitted diseases, alot of these people are turning to death metal as an outlet. Most notably Deicide frontman Glen Benton, who has been a supporter of the gay and lesbian scene for years. "Thes people are going through some real dificult times and are looking for something to be part of without persecution, and I will do everything I can so they can find that in the death metal community."

That's incredible. Who writes articles at Wikipedia ? Even the Internet deserves better than such "encyclopedias".

Currently, Prozak is fighting a homosexual marxist pacifict feminist to have anus rightfullly linked on the Nihilism page.  I was in a war with a whiny dominatrix to get troll metal removed from the black metal page.

Every single wikipedia editor is a sexual degenerate.   www.theposc.com

ahhh what a good laugh! My best moment of today  ;D,laughing makes me feel good for a short while, forgeting temporarly the sad reality, thx for that link!

Take wiki as a suggestive tool and read it with critical eye,as any fool can twink it around.Trick is to write something in a serious and mature way,and the even fooler owners of the site will eat the even foolest arguments.A good and very intelligent politician of my country(Can) got his arse at wiki by a hater ,and described him as a Hitler most fidel servent,a reabilited pedophile and stuff like that.Stayed on wiki for months before it was discovered.

prolly  The owners dont know a thing about most the stuff of wiki thus when they find out that something is praticed with a precise ideology behind it that seems "scary" at first read if misunderstood that a minority of people adherate to, it scares them or get shocked if they adherate to an opposite ideology, especially when anus is threating of general subjects among the pretty unoffensive in itself "nihilism" like national-socialism for example(unoffensive as well)but completly misunderstood when looked with no interest(purest symbol of violence)."Hitler was the most awful and mentally ill man of all times! He has killed lotta people and put some in ovens!Shhh Shhh stop talking about him,I wont sleep tonight!"

Oh wait you and we all knew that already, christians are everywhere, and id like to get a list of all the jews or Jesus's purest followers or any other brainwashed extremist that have been sending complaints e-mails at wiki for having the "oOoh shocking" stuff modified in every single field of subjects!Id bet one ear that it would be a month of reading.

Not everyone should be allowed to write encyclopedias to begin with. It requires a certain knowledge, basically, or maybe am I misunderstanding what an encyclopedia is about in our times.

To me Wikipedia seems to be a bad concept at first.

On this, we agree entirely, and you've said it better than I have.

agree to that

The main problem is that its threating of certain types of subjects that are opinions, taste and choices matters, subjects that can be debated between two opposite minds shouldnt be there .Stuff like medicine or nature or scientifically proved subjects can't be much false(mostly copy/paste from serious sites)

....But since a filtering system would be impossible,Wiki should shut down instead of misinforming the mass, especially in this era, where internet is used by everybody on earth.

Also very true.

Any encyclopedia will need a filtering system. At that point, I'd rather we work within the traditional publishing network - and make it better, if we need to - instead of creating a second but mediocre "alternative."

Wikipedia as concept and execution is quite destructive; witness the death metal page, which is not any more accurate and in some ways considerably less accurate than mainstream media portrayals.

You'd be surprised at how wrong some medical information is on that site, how useless it is, and so on.  And the filtering system is just idiots out there disagreeing with what you have typed and saying so.  Pass.

Linked on Wikipedia' death metal page:

my favorite part is surely the moral at the end, with the typical gay bastard idiot from Trivium talking about something he knows (sarcasm), this thing being called music
