this is a good list. id add in Artillery's whole catalogue, get rid of Dodheimsgard, Xasthur, and the Ramones, and add in Anti-Cimex.

otherwise, quite good indeed.

Per what was done above, I've divided this list into two lists: one for long reviews, one for shorter reviews. Long reviews mean the band is essential; short reviews mean it's interesting in context but lacks any eternal recommendation.

This is a list for listening at this point. It's impossible to tell, without having heard a band, if it sucks, although things like retarded cover, retarded song titles, retarded behavior make it likely. My guess is that most of these will fall by the wayside.

Assuck should definitely be moved to the long reviews list. I could write an essay on "Anticapital".

The list above would overpower anyone, but we are giving a bit of helping hand over at Deathmetal.org. For example, some Nocturnus, Cynic and Obscura recordings have been covered so far and there's more to come. Readers are also advised to try out the search engines on these sites - there are good reviews "hidden" in LARM, Heidenlärm zine, ANUS blog and other related sections and archives besides the DLA.

I would love to see a review for Sacamentary Abolishment's "River of Corticone" essential material!

What did I just say about the search engine? It found two reviews of that SA album, one from Heidenlärm and one from LARM.

My fault, however this thread is a mess and needs to be culled into a concise list of top priorities

We'll get right on that so you can continue to lazily suggest other work for us.

Yeah, I predicted that retort. I'd love to do it, but a large portion of this stuff i haven't heard before. There's likely someone more qualified than me who has a better overall view of things.

While I'm sure there is plenty of material "hidden" all over, I feel like the point of a reviews database is to have it all up front and easily found.

Well, yeah, now that I read the whole topic again it seems that most people were strictly talking about DLA reviews. It was lost on me because the first message didn't specify and the list was so long, thought no-one would expect DLA to handle all this because they are not review robots.

Maybe you should include some sort of ranking system, percentiles or 1-10 scales or something.
