The Nocturnal Silence is fast becoming one of my most played albums, and I like Darkside quite a bit too. Is their material post-Darkside worth it at all?

Yes, they are still one of the more tasteful appliers of "pagan" melody in Swedish black metal.

Their latest is definitely their weakest. I found "Bloodhymns" to be solid, if a bit samey. Doesn't touch the old material, but they have stayed far closer to quality music than most of their contemporaries.
No.

OP: Not really.  They got a bit worse with each successive album. The last couple aren't far removed from the ubiquitous Goth-in-turd style.
