Metal zines project

A friend and I recently started compiling old zines and other materials we had to archive them so they're not lost to time.

We need help.

1. If you have an old zine, and can scan it into 300 dpi JPGs or a PDF, please do so and contact us.
2. If you find old zine archives anywhere on the internet, please download and pass along or point us to them (the former is better).
3. If you ran an old zine, and don't mind it being available in JPG/PDF format, please contact us.
4. Finally, we need a text file to put in zine archives. You know, ASCII art and links to the site.

I have lots of old zines but don't you think that it's better to keep them well hidden ? It will kill the thing if it becomes accessible to anyone on the internet.

Keeping stuff hidden didn't work. That's why the underground died: it hid all its true information and left only the lies public.

So? who was paying attention to these " lies "? Not the true fans of the music, just outsiders looking in

Well, the simple solution to this would be to collect all of these zines anyway, but make sure that they're all passworded, and only accessible by those who should be able to access them.

Thats retarded.

The "problem" is internet and search engines. Ordinary turd burgers of the modern day do not care a hoot about zines (or any kind of physical based text object for that matter) anymore. If you wanted to isolate metal from the world you would REMOVE all traces from the net. Then of course you would also be depriving many smart and worthy people from the chance of discovering it. I think Con'y meant keeping it clandestine is the path to more social game playing and eventual decay.

But........
Introducing an "everyone is invited!" equality attitude is also the path to SUCK.

It's a sticky situation we got on our hands....

I would prepose that the best way to go about it is simply to not be a big baby, and continue to listen and support quality. And to poke fun at the clueless, circle jerking, and self conscious fat tissue that our genre has collected.
