I know grindcore/gorecore or whatever is generally looked down upon here, but i was wondering if there is anything out there that is worth listening to? would the recommendations page be a good place to start?

Try the first couple each of Napalm Death, Carcass, Bolt Thrower, Godflesh, and Disharmonic Orchestra as well.

Grindcore seems like it had great potential, originally, but never reached the half of it. I think this is beacause of the shift from humour into societal/group fun shit that aroze from the many bands influenced by carcass, that didn't understand carcass, or how to express themselves. As a result the genre seems to have suffered a premature death.

It got socialized quickly, and absorbed by certain ideologies, so it didn't really have any direction but "fun" or "gore." All the Suffocation clone bands went the same way/

earlier grindcore is like overconcentrated punk music in my mind, with real political/philosophical aims, it attempts to shock the listener through its anger and intensity (that if you say something loud enough, people will listen). The strange thing I've noticed it's very prone to leftist ideologies.

Certainly hate edge. I should let you know, kavols RSO that I most likely have a burn of the double album reviewed on anus. I'd recommend it in your grind quest.
