Title: Comics
Post by: sofiana on October 01, 2010, 01:29:42 PM
I am drowning into the darkest depression, which is why I would need some good advice about comic strips to make me laugh.

Examples here :

The Perry Bible Fellowship (http://www.pbfcomics.com/), obviously.

I'm also partial to The Oatmeal's comics (http://theoatmeal.com/comics).

Some of the older "Lego Robot" (http://www.plasticbrickautomaton.com/) ones made me laugh too.

PBF is delightfully perverted.

Nothing Nice To Say (http://www.mitchclem.com/nothingnice/archive/) - good comic concerning punk music. I don't read any other online comics.

http://www.mitchclem.com/nothingnice/287/ - a favorite.

This is among the most crass and politically incorrect comic series I have ever seen. Perfect!

The comic's author was on this forum briefly:

I recommend The Far Side by Gary Larson.

Alternatively, check out Trailer Park Boys (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=diHfDP-MhXA).

Thanks for these, but some of them are more depressing than the daily news. I think I'll stick to my daily garfield widget ...

Any further suggestions are welcome.

I forgot to say that Brünhilde threads were better than Garfield.

The author of Perry Bible Fellowship has an exceptionally intelligent and twisted sense of humor :)

Electric Retard is probably primarily influenced by Mike Diana, who drew the cover for the Ridden With Disease Autopsy demo compilation:

Not webcomic per se, but hilarious and very well made: The Brick Testament (http://www.thebricktestament.com/), the whole Bible as a Lego rendition

I recommend The Far Side by Gary Larson.

I'll second this recommendation.

Got you there, Transcix. Have a whiskey with me, even if we're miles appart.

I'm not down on Schopenhauer (pun intended), but this sounds like a good idea.

Pleasantly surprised to see the PBF mentioned this much. Wonderful subversive satire.
