Rep. Mike Burgess, (R-Texas) on the skyrocketing costs of health care under the president’s health-care law.
100 to 400 percent increase in cost to existing plans. Working Americans have been already experiencing higher rates as insurers prepare for the new law's implementation. Combine this with the new increases in payroll taxes. So, either middle class individual households go bankrupt or the ever growing system does.

Franz Boas said the old 19th century skull measurements showing differences were all fake. Therefore we're all the same and anyone who says otherwise needs to shut up. 86% of anthropologists agree. And they got to keep their jobs too.

Buena Vista schools have been closed for five days already, and on Monday, the district's website stated that the school would be closed until further notice. For good reason, this decision has parents, and the community, up in arms.
The problem in Buena Vista is that the school district, educating approximately 450 kids, is out of money. All the teachers have been laid off and a financial emergency has been declared. The district has suffered from declining enrollment, which, in turn, has led to a loss of $3 million in state funding since 2010.
In an effort to keep schools open, teachers said they would work without pay. This is not possible under Michigan law so educators have been left in limbo. To make matters worse, the staff has also lost their health insurance.

That's typical daily news we've had for years now.

The constant polarization itself is a symptom of our modern age. Even the great schisms that break off from the old idea to form viable competitors as with the Reformation or the end of the Whigs no longer happen. It is more like fragmentation and dissolution leaving only the original polar opposites standing over all powerless alternatives.
This is probably the biggest sickness with the mob democracy system. Problem solving of any sort eventually turns completely impossible because all of the focus goes into becoming the inversion of the opposition instead. The artificially constructed social identity of this or that political party, this or that soap opera, sport team, soft drink, all replacements for real historic and natural identity, trumps all.
End of History's endless loop with no viable means to create a break then burns itself out for consuming all material, time and attention just to sustain the loop itself from pure fear that any alternatives to itself would turn out worse. So the break from the loop comes nonetheless but not by reform and improvement which have been made impossible. Unplanned then, it comes as an awful collapse as with the Roman, Ottoman, Yugoslav, or Soviet Union's own various End of Histories.

Modern politics forces people into polarity. This is not an issue of left-right, but really a question of “what issue will decide the election?”

We're behaving as if contextless facts aren't really just an abstraction that we can't reliably act upon. The lack of context is because a projected vision has been substituted for the real world.

The most promising people we produce at any given time by nature are starved for taking part in risky greatness. Instead, they get stuck with social safety nets and traffic lights along with all the other equals.

One other attribute of exotericism is that it is based in facts, but not in reality. That is to say we look at reality, make conclusions about it in words or figures, and then we act on those, without ever again referring to reality itself to make sure we have the right idea.
Ideology and blind faith assumptions fit the exoteric pattern which makes them perfect methods of control. I’m not talking about state control. I’m talking about self-control. They enable us to go into a binary mode of questioning whether we’re following the agenda or not, and if we are, of writing everything else off and sallying forth in oblivion. With such mental control, we can forget the instability of our situation and pursue instead a certain type of brainwashed dedication.

So then the omission of Pink Floyd is very unlikely to break the genealogy of metal so that even without it we would still have had what's magnificent in metal. Effectively, Pink Floyd and some of the others offered = not metal.

Students fear that combining two Memphis high schools will set off a turf war between rival gangs. The Unified School Board wants to merge George Washington Carver High School and Booker T. Washington High School to save money, but some students warn that will put their education, even their lives, at risk.

So we increase public spending to add schools which then eventually busts the budget. Then we have to close one and consolidate to fit the budget resulting in "there will be blood". Modern progress does not work.

Seven people were arrested in the U.S., accused of operating the New York cell of what prosecutors said was a network that carried out thefts at ATMs in 27 countries from Canada to Russia. Law enforcement agencies from more than a dozen nations were involved in the investigation, U.S. prosecutors in New York said Thursday.

Brooklyn U.S. Attorney Loretta Lynch, who called the theft "a massive 21st-century bank heist," announced the case Thursday in New York.
