I don't like it.

Sounds to me like a worse version of Unholy Cult, and I didn't like that much.  Too weak sounding, like Dream Theater almost!!  I don't give a shit if the guitar playing has improved, or whatever, the fact is there is no passion in it.

I will settle with the first 4

Transilvanian Hunger is by far the worst Darkthrone release ever. The album sounded flat, monotonous and a bore to listen to.

Then you can't be that big a Darkthrone fan, because you obviously have not heard Ravishing Grimness, Plaguewielder, Hate Them, Sardonic Wrath or the unbelievably bad Cult Is Alive

Xasthur
http://www.myspace.com/xasthurband

I have seen only an interview with Malefic here on ANUS, but 0 results if you search the forum.
Great music, in the vein of Burzum, Mütiilätion...

Lesser known??  Are you kidding??  Everyone knows Xasthur now... just look at any black metal forum, there will be about 10 Xasthur related threads just on the first page.

Also use the official Xasthur site http://xasthur.mercurous.net/  not that retarded Murdoch-owned thing

Yes I am a fan (not of everything he does, though) ..I would say it is more in the vein Graveland and Manes

Also Funeral Mist are shit.

Not bad!  Though it doesn't seem so much a guide as a collection of cover art... still, at least you didn't put anything sucky on there (except Master Of Faggots)

Forgotten Legends could have been a great album. Its melody was extremely evocative, and I independently felt a feeling of autumn in the music without ever seeing the artwork or hearing anyone say anything about it, only to find out that many also experienced the same thing. Unfortunately, each song should be about half its length. Too much repetition with no development. I'd call it a let-down.

I agree completely.  It just simply does not go anywhere.  Occasionally put it on as background music but it's hard to sit through otherwise.

Seconded Vlad Tepes and early MDB, I'm still personally wanting a Xasthur and Bethlehem review, but I doubt it will happen.

The excuse will be: Xasthur has too much material (quantity/quality) or has not been around long enough, or "just another bedroom black metal artist", or something.  I find his work to be very impressive though, nothing "extraordinary" but just good at evoking a mood, like Abyssic Hate/Nortt/etc...

Ah, an Abyssic Hate page would be nice

Aquarius records out of SF are also very fond of black metal, surprising for an "alternative" record store.

http://aquariusrecords.org/

They're fond of anything, even boy/girl groups.  You could order a "Girls Aloud" cd along with some fascist black metal, if you wanted to embarrass yourself.
