Dead Congregation, Funebrarum, Cruciamentum and Blaspherian; I all hold in high regards.

the DM scene needs more rotten slimey original death metal and less goat worship/bo(war)e metal

I agree with both statements!

taking a shot in the dark here, Is Humancide actually Deadite aka Chris? from NYC? haha

Having been into Dead Congregation since I remember hearing Graves of the Archangels for the first time in 08 when it came out, that album has won album of the year consistently (yeah, wrap your head around that one)

Funebrarum does nothing but destroy, I don't feel wanting more from the songs; just moar songs.

Cruciamentum is fantastic live and the two releases they made so far are killer, plus the split. Shame they are ending things so soon.

And finally, having hung out with and watched Blaspherian practice; they too are another "new" band but most definitely have their sights set for greater things. Wes has a top notch band of death warriors ready to total death strike at a moments notice.

5. Tell me there's not romantic imagination in Blasphomet Sin Abset and I'll wonder what parts of Wordsworth, Donne and Beethoven you didn't get.

This

That demo transfixes me. Plus talking to Jeff about it during the Destroying Texas fest this past year was cool too

Everything needs to be maintained in moderation.
I spend a lot of time on the computer; but out of it I've gained friends that I have met in real life at festivals; made connections with bands allowing me to hear stuff before anyone else etc...

hell. I've even met and gotten a real best friend because of the internet; but like anything of a good thing it can be come sour and over burdening.

Arghoslent doesn't sound like death metal to me (apart from the vocals and occasional blasting). Mostly it just sounds like old Running Wild or Manilla Road.

This^ Still amazing music regardless

Bands I really have been digging lately and worth the effort in checking out

BOLZER
MANIFESTING
BONE SICKNESS
CHRONIC TOMB
ASCENDED DEAD

All newer/up and coming bands that are crushing all those around them in their scenes.

Inquisition doesn`t seem to get enough notice here, having carved a sound that can be easily distinguished from the rest of the modern metal ilk. This should itself be noteworthy at a moment when most metal either emulates the past in form and/or structure, or just churns out indie carnival music.
\

I love OSDM and modern bands that work to achieve that same feel, but also I would much rather the newest wave of metal bands look forward to new directions in their playing style. INQUISITION is a 2 piece band that can emulate their studio sound in a live setting. The riffs that Dagon has written covers all octaves of both guitar and bass, something that is rare to hear.

Plus the fact that they started in Colombia as a Thrash Band then morphed into the more blasphemous black metal band they are now.

don't forget Abominations of Desolation/Morbid Angel.  I've always had a thing for Dawn of Possession-Immolation!

Hell yeah. Immolation are classick. Their newest EP really impressed me. The pinch harmonics are haunting!

I feel like Inquisition should be considered for this list. At the very least in terms of consistent quality. The middle albums are the weakest while the most recent two are the best of their work thus far. I know these guys aren't fairly popular but I believe their work has merit.

they are like one the biggest metal bands around?? what do you mean not popular lol

I saw them at Rites of Darkness...and Ive got to say it was note for note perfect.

Demigod is one of those bands that fucking crush and I think they really do mean it when they say its going to be a throw back sound.

I read somewhere that this band started off as a Christian Metalcore band.

Aglare Light is a Chinese NSBM band. Their demo Blood and Honor is pretty good for a one man project.

Original Sin is just BM. The old bassist is the guy from Aglare Light. Misanthropic is their newest album.
