I occasionally listen to the Dum Dum Girls, thier early work is garage rock with a slight shoegaze influnce.  Thier later releases loose the garage rock sound for a poppier sound.

Supposedly the tickets are $10.00 to celebrate the 1991 Slayer/Megadeth tour.

I wrote an essay comparing Romantic poetry to black metal lyrics. I may submit it to the site one day, but I need to edit it first.

Metal / Christian metal band attempts to rename Tom G. Warrior
« on: March 25, 2009, 04:10:50 AM »
http://fischerisdead.blogspot.com/2009/03/for-your-entertainment.html

Late one night in May of 1982, bassist/singer Urs Sprenger and I founded Hellhammer and adopted the stage names Steve Warrior and Tom Gabriel Warrior. I still use that name - in parallel with my actual surname - as I have done on and off for 27 years. In many ways, it has become synonymous with significant parts of my life and work, and it is the name our audiences invariably call me.

This week, I received the following e-mail to my personal MySpace account:

"From: WARRIOR, America’s Rock Band

Date: March 17, 2009, 3:07 AM

Subject: Hi, I'm Tad donley

We own the international trademark for the word "Warrior" for selling of recordings and public performances. I suggest you pick another name for your band or their could be some litigation soon which includes payment. It's strictly business, not trying to be harsh. I'm the owner of the trademark. Another band changed their name to warryor. You can check us out at www.myspace.com/warriorrocks. Been together since 1985.

Wish you the best.

Tad Donley"

Besides trying to block my use of the name "Warrior", Mr Donley apparently has also found God, as detailed in the article "Tad's Journey Back From Hell" in the "Testimonials" section of his group's state-of-the-art website: http://www.iamawarrior.com/

Some of these studies seem to have potential to be worthwhile.
Tragic Metal by Carmen DeAnna particularly interested me since it connnets metal to Greek tragedies and Romantic music. She even briefly mentions metal's attempt to separate itself from blues.

This is a good reason why death metal fans in Houston and elsewhere should not praise Death.

Quote

Chaucer = Oral tradition. It is massively popularist and popular for his contemporary society.

Not truly, many of his tales were come from written Italian sources like the Clerk's Tale and the Knight's Tale. He also wrote some of his own poems like the Book of the Duchess. He did write down oral folk tales, but the intention of his wrtings were not meant for the general populace who could not read. Roman de la Rose was much more popular than the Canterbury Tales.

Jews should make their own 'resistance music'.

The world could have only been considered a 'white world' during the time of colonial subjugation, when the white man when out to conquer the world. Now that we have left those savage nations fucked up, the inhabitants are migrating (invading) to white countires.
