It's nothing major, and I do enjoy the music of Summoning but it often occurs that when bands discuss their music in this tone, being that it's centered around the persona of the band and what they do, or what people expect of the band, we loose sight of it's inner core, what fascinates and is motivating in the music.

A better example is the works of Darkthrone and Emperor after they discovered what people thought of their style. as a product of the fanbase, and ultimately the ego.

why would they talk about this stuff? is seems like it was written to give the fans excitement.

earlier grindcore is like overconcentrated punk music in my mind, with real political/philosophical aims, it attempts to shock the listener through its anger and intensity (that if you say something loud enough, people will listen). The strange thing I've noticed it's very prone to leftist ideologies.

with attention to grindcore, black metal fortunately was not consumed by the indulgence of humour, on the whole it's quite fake though..

Grindcore seems like it had great potential, originally, but never reached the half of it. I think this is beacause of the shift from humour into societal/group fun shit that aroze from the many bands influenced by carcass, that didn't understand carcass, or how to express themselves. As a result the genre seems to have suffered a premature death.

Even the names of those bands (and albums) are rather dull, like life since I was a child and the world was full of wonder.

Effort is better spent on getting old works and observing constructive insect activity.

maybe black, death and grind styles should stop alltogether, or have they already? ceased in worth.

Sarcófago, Bathory, Sodom, Possessed and early Sepultura all sound very brotherly in the way of a thrash derived black/death prototype. I find such music interesting on an evolutionary level (ideology, aesthetics) as present in later styles, yet similarly unevolved due to image-centric scene hogs and blastbeat technology.

sounds familiar

propositions

- only music that 'goes somewhere' does not suck

- Nocternity, like most black metal sucks

- Nocternity is like most black metal

- music is ideas as emotion, it doesn't have to go anywhere

-we try to create too much, too often

- there's a certain spartan air about Nocternity
