Interzone / Hessian Experience

I have a few questions aimed at Hessians/Metalheads whom live in North America. I am an immigrant to this country (escaping military service because according to the values of my country, I would have been hung a long time ago) and am prepared to live in the USA in New Jersey. I have a done a little bit of research on NJ and it's quite a nice state and I have actually chosen a house to rent in Clifton until I manage to buy a place.

One thing that has been on my mind is, what car should I purchase? I want something modest, sturdy because I plan to take it on trips and won't baffle me with it's lack of quality. I was told American cars are not the ones I should have in mind, yet more or less - Japanese, what's your take on this?

When Hessians are confronted by your average moron, ages of musical isolation from the mainstream creates, at least for some of us - a lack of argument. Is there such a thing as a "return to forum" after years of plastic musical attribution? Regardless of Metallica, would the same be applicable for a band such as Morbid Angel. Most bands seem to lose track of their art, how many of those actually ever do breakthrough once again?

Interestingly enough, this band has grabbed my attention. They seem to be doing things better than modern Deicide and Behemoth despite the related approach to the music. Highly intelligent rhythmic ability in particular here.

When you listen to the full album, you will understand or not. Never has CRYPTOPSY been soo fast and agressive and at the same time generated feel in metal songs, wow. Not an achievement to you, it seems, but something extremely hard to do. If you get it or not, that's up to you, but people judge fast and I can guarantee that if you open your mind a little, you'll understand and be in awe. it is no small stroke of good fortune that you happen to have found your calling as a drummer, because as a logician or a debater, you are an abject failure. Perhaps there are high school playgrounds, back alleys or political rallies where your brand of fallacious counterpoint is considered legitimate, but we will not be cowed by your indignation or persuaded by your knee-jerk accusations of intolerance.

Facts are pernicious things, never yielding to desire or popular opinion, no matter how widely held they might be to be true. And what could be more popular; at least among washed-up, myopic, uninspired and emotionally fragile musicians past their prime; than that most flaccid and pitiful of canards, that all-purpose excuse of "experimentation"....

In case you've been living under a rock or in a cave this past decade, which I know you haven't been and are simply being dishonest, allow me to fill you in; STACCATO BURSTS OF PALM-MUTED NOTES OF THE EXACT SAME PITCH ACCOMPANIED BY BLAST BEATS AND HOWLING INFANT-LIKE VOCALS HAS BEEN DONE TO DEATH THESE PAST FIVE YEARS.

"Experimentation" refers to trying NEW things. What YOU are doing is hopping on a band wagon and then pretending to be Colonel Klink when these ugly facts are raised to you, and all you can offer by way of defense to your loyal and patient fans is a supercilious, selfish rant about "close-mindedness". Absurd. Contemptible. Pathetic. I'm wracked with disgust, not only that you could release such nakedly derivative, mainstream putris and try to defend it as novel and inventive in the face of overwhelming evidence, but that you could then carry on to lash out in petulant indignation at your justly offended fanbase.

What would it take, sir, to entreat you to merely CONSIDER the possibility that you have stumbled and taken this band in a humiliating direction that shames it's reputation? Are you so far beyond reproach in your own mind that the very notion of finding yourself in error brings out the most dishonest and unflattering in you?

Your fans are not fickle people, Mr. Mounier. They have not come and gone with the trends, they have sought out venues and vendors well out of their way, beyond the reach of the mainstream. If they aren't geniuses, then they are not sheep either. They have the savvy to tell when they're hearing something new, and when they're simply hearing a new trend dressed up in hype.

They listened to the music and they heard the very trend-driven tripe they have been weathering for half a decade and had hoped to find refuge from in your canon, and YOU failed to reciprocate their support. Bands running aground and turning to the bandwagons of the day are nothing new, but then you lashed out at them and called them all obtuse for not heralding what you'd done as a work of high art without a second thought. It's one thing to exhibit skepticism about your criticisms, it's quite another to suggest your work is flawless and all of your critics are by default unthinking and backwards without even addressing their concerns.

It would be interesting to see how some Hessians would approach this argument, i don't believe i take either sides...but my perspective is that Cryptopsy should have formed a new band, before deciding to release such horrid material - plus I think that the "fans" have formed another "herd" in a stricter, more conservative world that tries to impose itself by criticism and bashing rather than reconsideration and building a constructive review of Cryptopsy. I think a band betraying its fans is not betrayal, but simply seeking new territory while it is under the assumption that their songwriting is the apex of fucking coolness.

Would like to see how most of you see this.

Since facebook is for the average consumer, I'm hesitant to use it, but if i do, whom am i to look for who visits ANUS?

I've done alot of pondering concerning this concept - since religion and a principle deity cannot provide an answer, neither can science give us a solution to anything...My nearest guess was something similar to what the MLO had faith in (Misanthropic Luciferian Order) which was chaos, and that it was paradimensional.

What about any other individual on this site, what do you believe in concerning the creation of everything?

Myrkskog - Superior Massacre

Myrkskog's second album further extrapolates the nihilistic confrontation created by their debut album Deathmachine. While their debut was an invocation to brutality topped with ripping gore, Superior Massacre focuses on well crafted structuring based on a solid foundation of dogmatic; Nietzsche influenced intention integrated with the gore influence and highly dexterous musicianship of all the band members. This is a record you look forward to because of the amount of surprises you could find in a band which is exploring relatively unknown territory within its habit, Norway.

Thankfully, the studio production of this album isn't bassy and by no means overproduced, although the stringed instruments don't get as much recognition as the drums do, the guitars are poignant enough to create the havoc intended. Although the bass rarely protrudes anywhere on this, which is a severe downfall for a majority of death metal bands in general.

From the beginning of the album (excluding the disastrous intro, which is a weak attempt to level the music altogether) this piece of work detonates without warning from almost simple ideology in terms of riffing, but intricately manages to pull of astounding rhythmic progressive developments akin to some important American Death Metal. It would be wrong to say this material is completely original and of innovative intent, for this is not so, but Myrkskog haven't burrowed anything completely recognizable from other bands, and this is pleasing.

Despite this, Myrkskog seemingly write songs by piling up a multitude of riffs together and try to assimilate them with extensive percussion/riffing textures, this weakens the potential of the songs at some points but at counterpoints, Myrkskog have perfected this technique better than more mainstream bands such as Behemoth and Dimmu Borgir. Soloing here is without doubt tedious because it's helpless compared to the music around it, although skilled, doesn't express the anger involved in this music. Once again Odd should be given the spotlight, but guitarist is without doubt an individual to be reckoned with.


Where it seems as though the band could no longer keep up the impressive syncopations and tremolo picking, they revert to groovier techniques still propelled by the simply amazing drumming of Odd. As layer and layer of pounding material is delivered through this album, Myrskog also suggest experimenting with music at less vicious speeds, but with more refined brutality and skill. This is applied articulately, as apparently these musicians aren't morons, but intelligent perfectionists who have gone into territory that few bands dare to explore due to the unexpected outcome of the music as a whole.

Highly recommended this album is, as these musicians continuously defy limits and aggression through hyper paced songs, completely aware were this music could head off into, a terrible array of technical riffs and lifeless death metal, but no such thing is reached throughout the whole of the album.

Is this a reliable website if one wants to spread ideologies around? I honestly see it as the result of our hedonistic society and how democracy promises that every individual benefit and obtain pleasure, without contemplating the aftermath of it all. This is how to voice your opinion in a popularity contest, but could be utilized any other way?
