Interzone / pettiness kills the soul
« on: April 28, 2014, 05:34:04 PM »

To the moden men, the infinite exists no more. All is trivial, petty and limited for them. (their ego is limitless but still petty) In fear of death and suffering, they try to impose limits to the soul. They shut down their own souls but what's worse is that they try to restrain those who strive for more. For them, one must be crazy it he thinks otherwise. Social interactions can be particuliarily suffocating if one is conscient of this game being at work. Even with the new christianity, it's all pettiness. I almost want to have no soul than to have it trapped for ever in their paradize.

Metal / camel - the snow goose
« on: April 06, 2014, 03:33:21 PM »

If you are tired of metal, listen to this. camel - the snow goose. I don't know how to put it in words but this is just great. The spirit is just great, there dept in that, (good) variation, like in life.  Way better than the majority of metal if you ask me.

Metal / Amebix's interview
« on: February 19, 2014, 07:56:41 PM »
I just found a great interview with Rob Miller from Amebix about swords and their last album (which is great by the way, people should learn from it about making a meaningful album).

Interzone / waves and frequencies
« on: February 18, 2014, 01:20:14 PM »

On youtube, I saw a video where it said that 528 Hz is Earth/Body Natural Frequency

Is there any truth about that? On a broader scale, is anybody have done research on vibrations, waves, be it musical or otherwise, especially its effects on the living?  It's such a vast field of study that it can be confusing where to start. Feel free to recommend any usefull books or websites.

Interzone / What is love?
« on: January 27, 2014, 01:12:21 PM »
I may be stupid, but I don't think I know what love is. What is love?

Interzone / what type of god would you be?
« on: November 02, 2013, 05:48:03 PM »
I think I would like to be Hermes, the messenger of the gods. Or Wotan as a wanderer.

It may seems stupid in our daily lives but in the long run, it could be important. Maybe we are fallen gods or gods to be?

Interzone / Blasphemy
« on: September 16, 2013, 04:13:28 PM »
Since we are on a metal forum and blasphemy is a part of metal, let's talk about it. I must confess that altrought I'm on a spiritual path more on the ''light side'' so to speak, from times to times I revel in blasphemy. I don't know why exactly it is so. Is it because I have an ''evil'' part in me? One of the reason I do it is because I want to bring down Iwhat I consider to be false Idols. But sometimes it's just wild, youthful ''pleasure''. Absurd had put it quite nicely:

''Straight on through the gates of heaven
Evil will destroy the souls
Where's your saviour, where hides Jesus
Why isn't he at war against us

Darkness around us was so sizeable
Black blood running through my veins
We know: what we did was unacceptable
But our hearts were by evil love chained''

What would be the role of Blasphemy in the scheme of the spiritual world?

Interzone / The secret
« on: September 10, 2013, 03:13:22 PM »
Two Zen monks, a young and a patriarch, walk on a desert plateau. The young appointed asks: "Master, I want to know what is the secret, what is the silence?" The patriarch remains silent and continues on its way, followed by the young disciple that repeats: "Master, Master, what is the secret, what is the silence?" They reach the edge of a cliff. A tree is overlooking the empty almost at horizontal. The old monk commanded his young friend: «Walk on balance along this branch." The young monk cautiously advances above empty. "Now, the patriarch said, stop, get down, bite quickly the branch between your teeth and hang up in the wind like the green fruit that you are!" The young monk, very nervous but much disciplined obeys his master, and soon he is hanging above the empty, held only by its own jaws. "Now, said the master, tell me, what is the secret, what the silence?

Metal / Ancient roman music
« on: August 27, 2013, 03:13:19 PM »
It maybe far-fetched but some of the dissonance in ancient roman music have similarities with death metal.

The two have warrior-like spirit behind it.

the same can be said with ancient japanese music

Metal / LLN (Les légions noires)
« on: August 23, 2013, 08:57:42 PM »
Do you guys like the bands Of the LLN (Les légions noires)?

Vlad Tepes brought a fusion of traditional black metal, folkish song and rock in a way that one component doesn't overcome the others most of the time. There's a earthly feeling that we don't see often in black or death metal. I think newer bands should expend on those basis

Vlad Tepes - Raven's Hike

Vlad Tepes - Walachian Tyrant

For a more noisy and ambiant approach, Belketre is great.

Mutiilation are great briging an atmosphere of sorrow but at the same time remains aristocratic so to speak, unlike new depressive black metal. One complain though: some riffs are overlong.

Travels to sadness, hate and depression

Under Ardailles Night

Sure those bands are far from perfection but good elements can be taken from them. New comer should learn from their strengh as well as from their mistakes.

Interzone / Folk music
« on: June 22, 2013, 01:09:16 PM »
I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread where we could post folk music like waltz, reels, traditional songs etc.

I'll start with a few ones:

Berchtesgadener und Münsterland über Neuharlingersiel - Maria Hellwig - Volksmusik

Gavotte des montagnes

Finnish Folk Song, MeNaiset - Kuulin aanen (I Heard the Voice)

Agnes Buen Garnas - Draumkvedet (The Dream Poem)

"La destinée, la rose au bois"

Interzone / the bite of the apple
« on: May 16, 2013, 06:03:33 PM »
The modern life tempt us with a shiny apple called desire. It can be cars, celebrity, vanity, big money, mindless sex, drugs, fine food, all types of material goods and man-made paradizes. But Underneath of it, there is a  nasty, a sneaky poison wich drove us more and more from reality into the realm of dreams and illusions. If we take a bite of that fruit, we become dead to the real world. Only a kiss of true Love can bring us back in the realm of the living.
