Metal / Sasquatch aids Glen Benton for cd promo
« on: April 22, 2008, 05:37:14 PM »
"Glen Benton, vocalist and bassist for death metal legends DEICIDE, claims to have seen a Sasquatch or Bigfoot in a Florida state forest.

In the latest issue of Terrorizer magazine, Glen tells the tale of one strange night in the middle of nowhere, where he believes he saw "the Florida Sasquatch":

"I see this big fuckin' thing lurched down on the side of the road... It's this big grey thing... it fuckin' clears the road in one fuckin' leap, 'ROOOOAHHR!' then into the woods."

Glen describes following the creature into the woods in his jeep: "This thing's snapping down trees left and right. All around was a smell like the inside of a dumpster... This thing looked like a primate of some sort. Fuckin' huge eyes, but like part-orangutan and part-chimp."

After calling Florida Wildlife, the area was checked and tracks are said to have been found. Glen's experience was documented as an official sighting..."

Interzone / inherited worship

I was talking to a friend today about religion. He spoke as to how he is Catholic but "not by choice." I asked him to elaborate and he claimed that he is Catholic because he was born into a Catholic family, but he then admitted that he does not believe in Jesus Christ. I kept stressing to him how religion is a personal choice, it's not inheritable like physical characteristics. I sadly believe that many people follow his same mindset; They follow a religion only because it's what their family and all of their friends did and they never questioned it. They must of either of been afraid to stand out or ignorant to the fact that they even could.

Metal / Deicide recording new album
« on: September 13, 2007, 07:23:18 AM »
"Legendary death metal outfit DEICIDE has begun work on its ninth studio album at Florida's Morrisound Studios. Entitled "Till Death Do Us Part", the follow-up to 2006's "The Stench of Redemption" promises to be DEICIDE's "most savage and aggressive [offering] to date," according to a press release. Drummer Steve Asheim has begun the process by laying down drum tracks on a set of songs that retain all the high-speed intensity of the last album, but throw in a few surprises along the way.

Commented Asheim: "The songs will have a very evil and chaotic nature to them and will include the extensive arrangements and riffage that made 'Stench...' so great. "There's no mistaking... it's DEICIDE. It feels like a cross between 'Stench...' and 'Legion', and is definitely the next logical step for DEICIDE."

Once the music is down, the final stage will be for Glen Benton to contribute his unique vocal approach, with recordings scheduled for completion as early as November. "Till Death Us Do Part" is expected to be released early 2008.

"We keep pushing what we do," concluded Asheim. "The guitars are even more sinister...the drums even more brutal. DEICIDE fans may be shocked at how fast this came around, but they're going to eat it up."

An album title like "Til Death Do Us Part" hints at garbage.
