I haven't found any problems with Nero. If there's something specific, can you warn us?
It's bloated beyond belief.
I'd rather use smaller separate programs that are programmed well to do one thing and are free!

Craft - I'm going to be really offensive but make it still playable on the radio; akin to Satyricon
Deathspell Omega - I'm going to try and make Satanism intelligible. A better listen is Hirilorn
Clandestine Blaze - Another Mikko Aspa money maker
Dissection - Reinkaos is ass

I'd rather not remind people he even existed.

Destruction - Infernal Overkill (supposedly the next few albums are even better?)
Definitely get Eternal Devastation by them.
Tormentor - The Seventh Day of Doom & Anno Domini

Metal / Re: Enslaved. Vikingligr Veldi

Does anyone have recommendations of bands who explored a similar vein of black metal with good results? Most "Viking" Metal is plagued by cheese, cannibal corpse-isms, and inauthenticity. I'm not so much looking for viking metal, but fast, atmosphere black metal with intelligent use of synths, and a mature aesthetic. I can't currently think of any more specific ways to describe the sound, but what I am looking for is solidified in the album Vikingligr Veldi.
Hirilorn - Legends of Evil and Eternal Death.

Cover of new Metallica song:

Although they said it wouldn't be on the new album. I wouldn't expect anything better than it though.

Here's a good essay on videogames:
Art or not Art? - Peter Eliot
I enjoyed gaming up to and during the N64. It will downhill fast after that when the big publishers started buying out the good small development teams.

Shaun Micallef is my favorite comedian. These sketches are pretty good:

This thread lacks mentions of Monty Python!
