Metal / Re: Blast-Beat F.A.Q / info

Nile,I am not a drummer but I did do a 9 year stint doing thrash guitar and what was then called Dark Metal which is not so far off of black metal now.

we used blast beats then but they were never mid tempo.
they were rapid fire.
in our combonations the snare would get hit on both the snare and bass drum strikes. then sometimes the tempo could be changed and the high hat could be hit between the snare and bass drum.
what do you think??

the style of drumming was very much like the pounding of Kyle Severn of Incantation.there are many that are very fast like say Frost but then you have those that are not very fast but fast and have stamina to go on for 10  mins.  at full tilt without slowing.

Heathen recently suffered a loss as the bassist passed while changing his life for the better.

Hails 577,

I will speak for myself right now.
I have been a metalhead since the age of 13 and now I am 40,I have lived the denim & leather days, bullet belts[thanks to Destruction, fucking killer band] and I have been doing it ever since.
there is no way I will weaken to change to listen to commercial radio  nor will I soften,If I live to be 80,I will still listen to Kreator or Angel Dust and such.

the metal life is like looking through a tube, you can see way down inside but you do not see the end of metal living, listening at all.

blackmetal, thrash doom and death are all in my veins and will ever be my way of life.

I for one shall remain a carrier of the black sword of steel,,,,,,
