Morpheus - Stockholm scene death metal from back in the day. Pretty intense stuff, most underrated swedish death metal band in my opinion. Check out their full length album.

I like it, it's not really a return to the style of their first album, but it's good. This band always had a knack for subtle melodies with tasteful keyboards. I hope the new album isn't so limited like the other ones.

I happen to think Immolation are one of the better death metal bands to still be making music, but perhaps if they'd end more albums the way they did Failures for Gods (The Devil I Know), this would be rectified. If there's anything that flies in the face of "all their songs sound the same," it's definitely the last few minutes of this song.

Funny, Failures for Gods is the one album i think ends weakly. Other than that , frankly, I don't see what you guys are on about. Their albums are very cohesive and flow well from one song to the next, especially Close to a World Below. Care to give an example on how they do not?

Nox Intempesta - Damnanus Dominum, great black metal indeed... I wonder whatever happened to them, they are listed with another 2 recordings but unreleased... does anybody know some details concerning this?

Yes, it's technical death metal rather than black, but it's still very good. The Infernal Pandaemonium promo has half the songs of the unreleased album. It's a shame indeed

Dethrone The Son Of God (which has been referred to as 'humorous' several times, anyone have this impression?)

I love the original cover of this one. The contrast of a sunny meadow and Paul ledney with a bloody face and doing that ridiculous pose is both humorous and meaningful in some way i can't put my finger on. Too bad on the reissue they darkened the scene.

Norsk and English both share similar capitalization rules, as opposed to German; for captions of books and songtitles there exists to my experience an exception: "the standard rule in the English [and German] language is to capitalize words that are the first or the last word in the title and those that are not coordinating conjunctions (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so), prepositions (in, to, over), articles (an, a, the), or the word to when used to form an infinitive. Note that short verbs (Is, Are, Do) and pronouns (Me, It, His) are capitalized. Do not replicate stylized typography in logos and album art, though a redirect may be appropriate"

Yeah, that's right, and to clarify, it's english prepositions of 5 letters or less that are left uncapitalized.

I don't think i've heard anything as musically interesting in the grind arena as Pathologist. Can anyone recommend me anything similar? i enjoy the intensity of grindcore but also require something somewhat profound.

There's a Schopenhauer quote in the booklet.

"Klopfte man an die Gräber und fragte die Toten, ob sie wieder aufstehen wollten: Sie würden mit den köpfen schütteln"

(If one were to knock on the tombstones and ask the dead whether they would rise again, they would shake their heads)

I suggest all who say that 2007 has few good albums to check out the newest Profanatica. This album is fairly simple, but unlike anything that has come out in at least the past 10 years. Old Havohej fans won't be disappointed with this one.

They certainly will not. This album is a blast from the past, and sounds like it belongs back in 1992 rather than 07. The songs are a tad longer than their older material, but everything else is exactly the same. Still the best U-S-B-M band ever.

I've heard nothing but bad things about Biolich. How'd they get away with acting like that?

Also, no one has mentioned Antti's vocals. how did those go over?

Yes, Necrolord.
I have to say I'm quite tempted to pick up this re-release of FAFTS and so get my hands on the Finis Malorum EP. Does it stand up to the FAFTS matterial?

Extremely beautiful music, if not for the length it would top Far away...
