Example of a hard rocker. Pitiful.

Many Iron Maiden songs from the 80s centered around literature and mythology. The statement illustrates ignorance on the part of the journalist toward the subject, which is nothing new to anyone still paying attention to mass entertainment news.

Passive escapism is not the answer. One idea for Hessian culture is to push its way in amongst the other diverse multicultural elements, getting uniquely tailored priviledges and holidays for Hessians. This can't possibly occur with Hessians out of sight and out of mind.

Hessian Studies

Our recent interview with the reconstructed grincore band Napalm Life's frontperson Marcia Goldenway brought to our attention the alarming metamorphosis of heavy metal. Like swarming, multihued, delicate butterflies flittering from flower to flower across peaceful midday meadows, Napalm Life represents one among many metal bands that seek to crowd mass entertainment pop culture with their own unique style of angry, aggressive humanist compassion. Circling high above the fair meadows on a cloudless summer day, our black Hessian Studies crow, descending earthward, leading with stiletto beak, anticipating hunt and feast, spots its lone prey dancing amidst the colorful grassland flora below.

HS: "Welcome to our latest Hessian Studies, heavy metal culture interview, Marc..."

MG: "I would prefer if my friends start calling me Marcia, once and for all."

HS: "Yes, well we already knew about your lifestyle..."

MG: "You fucking fascist homophobe! You'll call me Miss Goldenway for the rest of the interview or I'm marching out of this ghetto hole-in-the-wall you call an office. Those brown curtains behind you are filthy and they don't match anything in this Christ forsaken shitpile. Who's your decorator?"

HS: "We don't actually have..."

MG: "DO IT!"

HS: (silence)

HS: "Miss Goldenway, our readers are interested in understanding why the band decided on the name change to Napalm Life. Was there anything you wanted to share with us?"

MG: "What are you all, a bunch of worthless morons in addition to impoverished trailer trash? The name change should be obvious by now."

HS: "We would like your own words..."

MG: "Why do I have to go to such lengths to explain myself to everyone? Your readers probably all vote Republican don't they?"

HS: "I wouldn't..."

MG: "Don't bullshit me. We're taking grindcore along with the entire heavy metal movement back from the haters and inhumane oppressors."

HS: "Marc..."

MG: (throaty, acrid howl) "FREE CHE. HEAL THE SICK. FEED THE HUNGRY."

MG: "I warned you, you penniless, fashionably-challenged fascist trash. It's Miss Goldenway."

HS: "But, Marc..., Miss Goldenway..."

MG: "I'm outta here. Okay, buh-bye now."

HS: (standing) "Hey, wait just a cotton picking minute."

MG: "Napalm because I have deep burning desires and relish flaming things. Life because it's progressive and my private accountant thinks a positive word will net me a 2.8% profit margin every coming quarter. You know it's all about entertainment, social justice and me."

HS: "Thank you for sharing your thoughts with our readers."

MG: "Go to hell, hater. I'll see to it that your next Democrat president from New York rounds you people up, every last one."

With that, Marcia Goldenway decided the Hessian Studies, heavy metal culture interview had concluded. We fully expected a more thorough disclosure from Miss Goldenway about the direction he and other metal bands were taking the music. Our crow continues his eternal hunt, once again high above the bright argent meadows' summer fields in bloom.

What would He have done?

I'm finding that heavy metal culture needs to remove its sandaldude-xtian moralizing. Long before leftist emo/nu-metal, metalheads were made of sterner stuff. Lose the social issues and moralizing, regain power ideals.

Metal / Re: Towards Hessian Culture

People today identify with a given culture through brand loyalty to a marketed lifestyle package. Each lifestyle package comes stocked with a product line. Metal is not limited to audio CDs. We have t-shirts, ballcaps, posters, concerts on DVD and so forth. Other lifestyle packages have their own given product lines. Culture did not grow in this manner until recent history. Something changed during the past century. Culture itself has become disposable, mass produced in many cases by those who, only seeking self interest, do not even identify with it.

The mediocre bands survive and prosper because wealthy corporations create and market them. Various Judeo-Christian boards of directors and chairmen of entertainment industries, none of whom even listen to metal, dominate what passes for Hessian culture.

Like democratic voters, web bots cannot reliably filter out bad information.

Example: someone posts on a metal forum that they wish a given band would come to their local bar in August. The web bot, oblivious to context, would collect that as an actual schedule.

Data integrity is high priority for this, so honest human input is needed.

Feasibility Study

A search page for black, doom, death and classical shows without the excess clutter of entertainment bands and comedians was my thought. The main problem is getting scheduling input from the outside world.

Ideally a fan could search 3 months in advance for:

City, state, province, country
Specific private venue in a given city
Band or orchestra name
Music style black, doom, death, classical shows
Whatever combination of the above

Registration for e-mail alert of upcoming events based on user's search criteria is doable.

I have noticed a lack of underground metal concert search capability on the web. We have some limited capability for searching large arena and stadium events and the big name entertainment these places may host, but this neglects underground metal.

Stage quality control protests outside of Pantera and all other nu-metal shows.

Carl Jung, Jungian and eclectic psychologists have certainly noticed Nietzsche.

Nietzsche's Will to Power lives on now as Jung's Self-Actualization.

Those three steps take money investment. Some meetings can include topics about saving, car pool, resource conservation, self-sufficiency, supporting local rather than international business, or anything related to redistributing cash into the group effort rather than out into our moronic plastic consumer culture.
