"When we wrote Age of quarrel at the end of our teens, we didn't sit down to write a hardcore album, we sat down to write good music"
It really does show. If more modern bands took this ethic metal could be so much more than it is now.

I'm very interested to hear what he will be doing musically. Let's just hope he doesn't end up back in prison anytime soon.

Chasm / Re: Wolves In The Throne Room - Malevolent Grain review
« on: February 05, 2009, 03:42:02 AM »I confuse Wolves in the Throne Room with Velvet Caccoon because the approach seems the same to me: make indie pop but make it super-repetitive using emo chording and black metal aesthetics.
They have been moving further down that road with each release. Two Hunters was at least a thoughtful album. It was striving for something deeper than itself even if it never quite reached it. This release, however, seems to have lost any of the spirit that they had and they seem content to float in a vapid haze of hipster sweat. Boring to say the least.
I was hoping their music would become more adventurous.

Meanwhile, the world at large continues to block any sense of understanding or rational thought.
Quote
A San Francisco court ruled that the writings and possessions of Theodore Kaczynski, the famed Unabomber and enemy of internetseverywhere, will be sold online to pay restitution to his victims' families. Ah, the irony.
