Interzone / Re: Practical Nihilism?
« on: April 02, 2009, 02:36:17 AM »
Ha Ha I totally agree! I am loving the GFC, with my "crappy" ten year old car, 1995 television, and so on....but with heaps of cash in the bank and hidden around the house. I am lovin Egay at the moment as people sell their cherished possessions for next to fuck all. Even got a Marshall JCM 800 for 300 bucks two weeks ago! Hope it lasts!

Ray Bradbury is the master of the written word in this genre. End of story. read and learn.

metalcore = nu-metal and vice versa.
Hopefully it will go the same way.

Maybe the train willl have knocked some sense into him, so he will go home and listen to some decent music like Opeth.

I personally like the Bahimiron, and think it deserves a second listen.

Interesting...no offence DMBM, I respect your comments 99% of the time, but after deciding to check out their music via mygayspace and seeing this grand write up by the members;
And I copy/paste.
...."Bahimiron are a malignant vile whiskey drenched hate squad, composed of 10-15 year veterans of the black metal scenes in Texas and in France... Grimlord is the de facto Commandante of this group - it was through him we were all handpicked to lead this assault on those of virtuous nature and unsoiled black metal panties - Violence is the reason we plod forward with Bahimiron, as members in the band have spent time in the local housing for criminality..well.. for... less then xtian axts against society..The music is now the outlet for massive random columbine style/bank of america robberies feelings some band members feel (blaash in particular). On a side note, I, blaash, am fuggin disgusted with myspace, but in losing a whiskey drinkin' contest with the other three members, it shall exist.. Grimlord, original singer for Imprecation goes back to the 80s for his inclusion... Krag Dagon, the fucked up satanic country boy, is early 90s.. JenOside is a witchdeamon I brought back from fuggin' france. I, blaash, piss and puke on this pathetic attempt at swapping pictures of persons in hopes that snipers will see them and use them on this site... otherwise, tally ho!, and do mind the latest releases out and about on labels..."

I wasnt particularly impressed. This write up makes them sound like a BM pantera. Then I listened to the songs available and cried at the shame of allowing it to be heard.
Pure pus. It made me want to try out Gaahl's new fashion line.

No, but considering that I am nearly done my archaeology degree from university, I would definitely object doing such jobs. Do you think it's only about physical labour? Why don't you willingly go work at McDonalds, or a warehouse, stacking box after box?

You're just reiterating that you object to manual labor because it would be personally inconvenient for you.  Of course it isn't only about physical labor, which is the entire point.
It's brainless work that one of extremely little intelligence can do. If I am more intelligent than such people, why would I waste my intelligence on something that requires none of it?

Ha Ha, I just got a mental image of all these elistist uni fags sitting around trying to debate how to do simple things like provide food and shelter for themselves, once they have eliminated the undesirable types. Cant wait for the nuclear conflagaration to engulge this cesspool planet, and then see who is needed!

Metal / Re: Why was there no German black metal movement
« on: December 30, 2008, 12:34:31 AM »
Beyond the above mentioned Bach and Beethoven, early black/death of the 1980s like Sodom and especially Kreator cemented Germany's role in the Black Metal Pantheon.

Dont forget Poison, I can recall someone in Mayhem saying in an interview 15 or so years ago that they were a heavy influence on them.
Out of curiousity after reading this thread today, I put on "Further into the Abyss" and noticed that some of the songs (or at least parts thereof) tend to lean towards early sounding BM, so possibly if they had been signed and not split up, maybe they would have evolved in that direction.

These bands are fairly good too - I'm a personal fan of Destroyer 666.  However, we're mainly talking about German black metal bands in this thread.
These above bands are Australian.  Again, I'm not saying they're bad, but I thought we were discussing German bands.

Point taken..I just thought it worthwhile to mention there was more than just "War Metal" bands from that country.
Carry on.

Australia has all those shitty War Metal bands.

What about bands like Nazxul, Astriaal, Darklord, Gospel of the Horns, Destroyer 666 and so on.
There has been a few decent bands besides the "War metal" (By this I take it you mean bands like Bestial Warlust etc. Correct me if I am wrong).

Metal / Re: Are most metalheads just...losers?

Perhaps age is wearing me down into a jaded old man, but people to open their eyes and look at the bigger picture more........and realise they dont count!
All this recent feeling sorry for yourself emo shit I see in young kids today apalls me. A lot seem to think only of themselves and what they believe they deserve from others, rather than getting off their asses and looking for it themselves. Usually a few metalheads are wiser than this, as is evident by sites like this, so perhaps it just the crap music they deem as good rotting their brains perhaps??

Interzone / Re: College
« on: December 09, 2008, 11:40:50 PM »
I have a Batchelor of Applied Science, which is considered mandatory in the field I work in. That said however, I felt totally let down by the whole University/College/or whatever the fuck it is called in your country experience. Most people tended to look down on everyone once studying a degree, and this exclusive arrogance is often taken into the workplace, which really fucks me off. I find in my field the ones with the degrees are the least practical and most useless assholes in the job. I would rather have a 40 year old drunk who had been in the game for 20 years, than some dumbfuck with a sheet of paper and his fucked up uni student views.. And they never usually seem to learn otherwise, they just expect people to worship them. The funniest thing is that whilst in Uni, half of these Clowns are out protesting on behalf of whatever faggot cause they deem trendy at the time, in between seeing some fuckwad mainstream trendy band, and promising to change the world. However there are exceptions to the rule!
Personally I think Uni courses should be more practical based, giving more face time with the industry these plebs are entering, so that they can get a better understanding of the real world. Also more effort needs to be spent on teaching how to appreciate others in the workforce, it would save a lot of "accidents" involving some of these high horse fucks.
Maybe I am old fashioned, or my upbringing was too lower class, but I hate uni students!  Look at what they made the Greek Police do the other day!
All in all, a degree is not an automatic key to higher status than the average joe, and some people need to realise this.

Why isnt Nirvana 2002 on this list? Despite having a limited output in their time, what they did put out was quality.

Good, since rare are the metalheads that arent into drugs.

Depends what sort of drugs you are insinuating?
Legal ones like Alcohol/Nicotine or otherwise?

Anyway Good luck with the meeting!  :)
