We used to have a commerce section, it was taken down because of all the asshats promoting with their shitty "technical brutal slamming blackened death doom metal" bands.

Maybe we should bring it back but strictly use it for stuff like this, I bet a lot of the users and lurkers here have plenty of rare stuff.

Metal / Re: Most Important(Influential) Metal Bands
« on: May 08, 2014, 12:53:54 AM »
Bathory was, along with Hellhammer/Celtic Frost, the first Black Metal band. A lot of the influence on Black Metal people attribute to Venom is actually the work of Bathory. Quorthon said he wasn't influenced by Bathory, but by British Punk and Heavy Metal bands, creating something not unlike a European Slayer.

I think that in some ways Bathory was more important than Celtic Frost, Celtic Frost was certainly influential but their technique was still quite rooted in traditional Heavy Metal while Bathory was more unique at the time.

The Slayer/Bathory comparison is interesting because while they were both essentially Heavy Metal/Punk hybrids, Slayer was influenced more by US Punk and NWOBHM like Iron Maiden. Bathory on the other hand was influenced by UK Punk and older British Heavy Metal like Motorhead and Black Sabbath.

This is a funny troll post...hahahahha
So I take it you disagree with me that Waste Em All is a solid thrash album? Because this is no troll post.

I thought Hazardous Mutation and Art of Partying were pretty solid speed metal albums for putting on during parties, while driving and what not, but Waste Em All was a truly unique thrash record that deserves to be placed next to Dealing With It in any punk/metalheads record collection.

I'd say Birth AD has Waste Em All beat though. Birth ADs material is kind of uneven however.

Is anyone else here a fan of Waste Em All? I think it's a pretty solid thrash album, and it has it's own voice rather than being a DRI clone. Municipal Waste of course ended up a silly speed metal/rock party band but their first album is an excellent thrash record and worth a listen.

Interzone / Re: Is our society worse for smart young women than men?

If it is, indeed, 'a man's world', she is very wise to take that into account and learn to deal with it.
Rather than claim 'it's a man's world', then go demanding that it shouldn't be.
What? This isn't some feminist diatribe, quite the opposite. It's just about how living in a corrupt soulless society might be harsher for girls than boys. Because it might be a mans world, but it aint a mans society anymore, and that leaves most girls directionless.

You'd be well advised to think about how it is for women, with women men are nothing, without men women are nothing. The disconnect between the sexes is one of the worst things about our broken society.

Anyone thats grown up in this soulless void knows that it takes a toll on your mental well being. The following topic has come up in passing but never discussed in-depth.

Is it possible that it's even worse for women? Young men are almost by default anti-authoritarian and find it easy, even enjoyable to shout "no gods no masters!" and go join a anarcho-punk commune with a few like minded people or whatever.

Women on the other hand generally need to have a place in the general community and are more dependent. Its hard for smart folk to find a proper partner, its hard enough to meet other intelligent people let alone one that also is compatible with your personality long term. Some girls are lucky enough to find a group of like minded people and take solace in that counter-community, most aren't.

It sucks for men to be alone romantically but it's even harder on women. Worse, the stress of living in a society that denies all things masculine, especially physical outlets for aggression, has left many of the smarter young guys neurotic, angry and quick to lash out.

Here is my education, in detail:

I'm a high school drop out. With a GED.

Then I got into trouble with heroin, joined the military. They beat me into a functioning member of society and now I fix cars.

Funny thing is I never had a problem with the police during my junkie years, now I'm clean, married and have a job and now they want to fuck with me haha.

Trust me guys, I realize that if I wanted pity this is the wrong place to go. If I wanted pity I'd go to facebook, Just sending a warning to all you punks/hessians/skinheads that henderson NV is hostile to you. Is it in their (Green Valleys) best interest? Maybe... Just beware if you want to be Tom Sawyer be prepared to pay the costs,

Hopefully this thread will take a more objective turn by avoiding the self-pity and the myths that always result.
Is talking about bad things that happen to me neccesarily self pity?

Here is my objective overview of the situation:

Las Vegas Metro/Phoenix Metro dealing with Hessians:
Cops: "Hows it going tonight sir"
DL: "Not bad, whats up?"
Cops: "We were wondering what you're doing around here so late"
DL: "Me and my friends are skating to the Descendents concert"
Cops: "can I search you?"
DL: "Sure"
Cops: "Ok you're free to go sir"

Hendo Cops dealing with Hessians:
Cops: "Hey asshole"
DL: "Whats the problem?"
Cops: "Give me your 'weapons' "
DL: "What did I do?"
Cops: "I ask the questions here shithead, I'm going to search you"
DL: "Ok I don't have anything"
*Cops steals money*
Cops: "You can leave now"
DL: "Can I have my stuff back?"
Cops: "Nope"

Just be glad you didn't get a lady cop. They have something to prove so are often worse than the men. A lot of my friends have similar problems. All my run-ins are my fault and 90 percent of them revolved around vigilance belligerence. Aside from LA, those run ins that have happened locally have been pleasant, all things considered. My wife doesn't dress like I do (boots/vest/etc) but she's got a lot of visible tattoos and piercings. She tends to get harassed and treated like garbage by police and she's a sweetheart. It legitimately enrages me because she's the one who keeps me in line.
I did get a lady cop, the main guy harassing me had his female partner there. She was fairly quiet though aside from asking me if I was on drugs 25 times. I was completely honest too, I told them that I had 5 beers and a few bong rips. I didn't have anything illegal on me so there was no reason for me not to be.

Colourful story. I have a clear picture of the whole thing.
Thanks, I like being a good story teller. I suppose this is my way of practicing.

But I gotta say: if you're looking for sympathy, you came to the wrong place.
Nah not looking for sympathy, got plenty of that at my lady friends house that I ended up crashing at haha. Girls love lost puppies. When shit like that happens I like to write it out, good way for me vent. Plus judging by the pigs remarks I bet if I wasn't a hessian things would have gone quite differently, so it was tangentially related to death metal. I was also curious if anyone else had similar stories.

I was actually thinking that you might be the guy that would have a good cop-harassment story even if you aren't a Hessian. Care to share?

Do you guys have any stories about police harassing you for being a Hessian or a Punk? I got a story to share.

On Monday I was in Henderson, NV. I currently stay in West Las Vegas around Sahara and Rainbow. I was visiting a friends house late at night, we were up listening to Death Metal, drinking beer and enjoying some bong hits. I left around 2AM and was skating to the bus stop (my car is in the shop) when some dickhead cop pulls me over. I was polite at first, he told me that I've been "ringing random peoples doorbells and harassing them" (I accidently went to the wrong house at first, apologized to the resident for the mistake but he was being an irate asshole anyway, guess he called the cops) and I told him the story.

He made me forfeit my spiked bracers, skateboard and my battle jacket because they're "weapons" and kept making me repeat my story so I started to get annoyed, more cruisers came and I asked "do you really need your whole squad for this?" and he said "We can tell you're no good by the hooligan clothes" (he really said that). Asked me how many drinks I've had and I said 5 beers. He told me that he knows I had more than that, I told him if he wants to test me I'm fine with that but he decided not to, guess he had more fun assuming I was wasted. I asked him if I'm under arrest and he said no so I told him I'm leaving and he said "I saw you jay walking, I can keep you here for a whole hour you little punk" and then he told me the 80s called and it wants my style back (real original).

Then he asked if he can search me, I said yeah and he asked if I have anything pointy, I said no and he found my 5 dollars for the bus and my keys and he said "You lied you asshole! You have buttons around your pocket? are you purposely trying to get me hurt?" and then he took my money saying it was "drug money" and kept all my shit! So I was stuck in bumfuck Hendo with no way home, my friend I was hanging out with had left, my nearest friend was about 6 miles so I had to walk all that way buzzed and tired to crash for the night.

Just had to vent guys, Henderson cops are the fucking worst. I hate Henderson. If you ever go to Las Vegas stay out of Hooterville, shitty people and shittier cops that hate hessians. Stole a 120 dollar skateboard, a battle jacket and bracers worth about 100 bucks with all the patches, and my only way home.

I never had much of a problem with Las Vegas Metro but those Hendo cops, fuck them.

It been replaced by vacuum cleaners.
I don't think it's a bad thing neccesarily. The habits that crow mentioned are the same with vacuum cleaners. Men tend to push down onto the carpet, "attacking" the dirt and grime while women tend to let it glide smoothly across the surface of the carpet.

Sorry if you thought I was just being a dick, I was being facetious. I do prefer DMBM and Conservationists "leadership" over crows though. I miss the constant homoeroticism.
