Metal / Re: Bands worth hearing thread
« on: July 26, 2013, 03:36:59 AM »
By the way Ulver is super gay and everybody should avoid their music, a 100% total sell in band from the beginning.

I personally like the first album but I never considered it black metal. I listen to it when i'm in a mood for light music. The same goes for the second album (the folk one).

I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread where we could post folk music like waltz, reels, traditional songs etc.

I'll start with a few ones:

Berchtesgadener und Münsterland über Neuharlingersiel - Maria Hellwig - Volksmusik

Gavotte des montagnes

Finnish Folk Song, MeNaiset - Kuulin aanen (I Heard the Voice)

Agnes Buen Garnas - Draumkvedet (The Dream Poem)

yes everything that exist is physical but beyond that (consciousness included) there's Mystery which has nothing to do with it. We can say it doesn't exist in a way.

what's great with loving an animal, is that it's not base on ego. It's the presence that matters. The animal doesn't care about your life, your opinions, your spirituality, your social circle etc.

it's a special relationship. On some level it's more distant than with other humans, on others, it's closer.

Love = life as such, from a higher, less ego-driven perspective.

let's celebrate it!

On a lower  level of conscience, worrying (about life, environment etc) is healthy  because if not you will end up apathic toward life and devolve to an neuro vegetative state (a couch potato)

If you are an illuminate you can stop worrying

most people are destructive and disturbed in everyday life but they don't know it.

Feeling easy on the outside
But not so funny on the inside
Feel the sound, pray for rain
For this is the night we ride

This ain't the garden of eden
There ain't no angels above
And things ain't like what they used to be
And this ain't the summer of love

Lock all your doors from the outside
The key will dangle by the inside
You may begin to understand
That this is the night we ride

This ain't the garden of eden
There ain't no angels above
And things ain't like what they used to be
And this ain't the summer of love

On the night we ride...this ain't the summer of love.

This ain't the garden of eden
There ain't no angels above
And things ain't like what they used to be
And this ain't the summer of love
This ain't the summer, this ain't, this ain't
This ain't the summer of love

will there be any visual art, music, poetry, etc. related to that religion? If so, will it involve creating new art or will we take what's allready there but in bring it in a new light?

good art is often a good ciment in order to make an enduring religion. well, it have worked for christianity and induism at least.

Fairy tales may seem silly on the surface for the modern man but when facing death or losses, a lot of people return to fairy tales.

Are you by any chance a muslim, Saif al-Malik? Or am I just assuming, because you have an Arabic-sounding name?

Yes, I am.  Do you have any questions?  Anything that goes beyond the focus of the thread can be the subject of a private message.  Since I am on a break from my studies, I will not neglect it, unlike fallot's inquiry.  I apologize for that one, sir!

I most confess that the clash between Islam and the occident frighten me a little. But I realize now that I know really little about Islam. It could be a good idea to have a thread where Islam is explained. I could clarify some misconceptions about it. For instance, I allways wondered what's the meaning of halal food.

I found the site of N-o-B, the man behind  ildjarn's albums  illustrations.

It could be interesting to have an interview with him.
