Interzone / Re: To Civilize or not to Civilize...
« on: May 24, 2013, 01:31:41 AM »
Some people try too hard to be civilized, and so become nothing but barbarians. These people I like, because they still have something natural in them. Sure, they can be tiring in the long run - but there is still some shred of innocence living within them, that I can connect with. They are like remnants of the wild lost in an alien world.

Whereas other people try so hard to be like barbarians, that it becomes obvious to all but the blind, that they are nothing but products of a dying civilization. They are all 'image'. They have nothing natural about them, though they violently insist that they are just that - natural. These people I can't stand. In fact, nobody can stand them.

And then there are those who don't see the point in trying to be something, that they are not.

Can you give exemples of those types of people? I'm maybe stupid but I don't know what are you referring to.

Reality is simple. you are present or you are gone.

Interzone / the bite of the apple
« on: May 17, 2013, 01:03:33 AM »
The modern life tempt us with a shiny apple called desire. It can be cars, celebrity, vanity, big money, mindless sex, drugs, fine food, all types of material goods and man-made paradizes. But Underneath of it, there is a  nasty, a sneaky poison wich drove us more and more from reality into the realm of dreams and illusions. If we take a bite of that fruit, we become dead to the real world. Only a kiss of true Love can bring us back in the realm of the living.

My unsolicited opinion:
Nuke chasm altogether.  People who want idle chatter can go to their social media pages.
As for Commerce vs. News, the following litmus test: is the band that's advertising/being advertised good?  If so, News.  If not, Commerce.
Keep Audiofile as is, for obvious reasons.

If the chasm is deleted, I don't think there will be much people who will remain on this forum, not that it has been really busy lately. It will turn into a generic metal forum sooner or later. On the plus side, I will have one  less reason to go on the internet so I will have more time to do something more constructive. :)

As for the commerce section, if we are to spend time filtering what's good and what's bad, why not just throw the bad away and leave only what's good? Do we need all the million bands of the week?

I think the forum is fine as it is.

I don't think it is a good idea to mix the commerce section with the metal section. More in-dept music discussions would be buried between ''commercial ads''.

Having wet shows or boots can turn an hiking trip for the worse really quickly. One false step can be enough to make a difference between life and death in some situations.

My favorite Krautrock band founded by ex members of Kraftwerk.

I immediately thought about the song ''limo wreck'' by Soundgarden

I made a dream last night. I saw the universe all around me. Suddently, it shrank and it closed on itself into a small box wich happens to be a dice. All around it was white. There was no landscape. just pure white light.

I read counting instead of  courting. I wonder if he made a typo. Sure, it can be nightmarish to court a sheep,
I mean a figurative one,   if your not a leftist  :)

Years ago, I had some trouble dropping off to sleep so I asked for advice on some forum probably this one. Well the reply was courting sheep. Even after all the visits to the farmer's field before bed time I not only still can't sleep right away but I get nightmares too.

What types of nightmares?

Thanks for the advice.  I haven't read it in a really long time.

There's some good stuff in the bible if you search enough.

The ''elite'' are already  busy finding a way to escape the earth (space program) and leave the rest of us in a doomed planet.

Maybe they are already been contacted by aliens (see the foo fighters during the ww2)
It's maybe insane but I had a bref  and clear vision coming of nowhere about Stalin having a meeting with aliens.

I always wondered why some philosophers tend to write so much to say so little? It's  like the more they are trapped in the supperficial world (like the marxist phylosophers) the more they tend to write big, incomprehensible words.
It's a chance that I was rebutted by their writing style, their thoughts never have a chance to have a grasp on me.  :)

I gained more knowledge about life reading  comic books than reading philosophy books.
Is there some philosophy books that is worth reading instead of reading books like the Tao te king or the Upanishads? The only phylosophy book that I have read in its entirely  is ''Thus Spoke Zarathustra'' if that counts or ''Beyond Good and Evil'' a long time ago.
