Metal / Re: Consistent bands
« on: April 09, 2012, 04:26:16 PM »
Profantica/Havohej, i have enjoyed all their works. Summoning and Graveland are probably the best candidates because they have produced so many albums of high quality,
Beherit. For me, first discovering this band and listening through their insane discography was actually one of the best experiences with metal I have ever had.
Bathory. Consistent for the first 6 albums in a row, with each one being highly influential.

They sound like garbage to my ears. Kind of mall metal-ish, or something similar to Bloodsoaked(also mall metal). The vocals are just terrible and the overall sound isn't foreboding like classic death metal.

Chasm / Re: Astral Projection
« on: April 01, 2012, 05:00:45 AM »Anyone frequently experience dreams where you realize it's a dream but don't wake up and stay there a while? The amount of control you have at that point is unreal. I was able to create my surroundings.
I have only one dream I can do this in and it is one that is reoccurring. I discovered some kind of "Heaven" for myself one night while dreaming. It was just a beautiful place away from all the shit and madness of the every day, average life in modern society. The harder i think about it, the harder it is to even recall what the place looked like. The only thing I know is that it is hell to reach. The first time I dream't of it I just went with the dream, wherever it may take me. Rowing down creeks, travelling across desert sands, hiking through snowy forest trails, the adventure itself was euphoric. Every once in awhile I find myself on the same path to reach this place but something always fucks it up, mostly because of someone else intervening.
What does this imaginary oasis symbolize in my life? Why is it reoccurring? and why can I never reach it?
I wonder how high my brain activity is during this reoccurring dream...

Immortal - Pure Holocaust.
If I knew nothing of planet earth and i lived on some space station, I would fantasize about epic mountains, black skies and all the chaos mother nature is capable of. This album embraces all beauty and ugliness of the north. I would choose this above all the OP's albums because it has nothing to do with the hocus pocus man-made religion, Christianity. All its ties are to the beauty of mother north, something worth keeping around for eternity.

Metal / Re: More bullshit music: "tech death"
« on: March 05, 2012, 12:51:06 AM »
Technical Death Metal has been hard for me to get into, maybe im listening to the wrong stuff, or maybe my brain cant handle the "sophistication" of the music. Deeds of Flesh comes to mind. I have had times where I really enjoyed Inbreeding the Anthropophagi and other times It just gets on my fucking nerves, I always say to myself "Where are they going with this?". I got super high one time and listened to Mark of the Legion and it scared the shit out of me , a feeling that is rare to come by, it just sounded monstrous. Sober however it just sounds like a bunch of bullshit wanking. Bands like Suffocation, Cryptopsy and Gorguts kind of hide their technicality rather well in their songs though, i wouldn't even think of them as being technical.

Trying to define who IS war metal is in itself an endless debate. Best possible candidates i can think of, of varying style would be :
Bolt Thrower
Truppensturm
Conqueror
I think what people are calling War Metal( ex. Black Witchery) is nothing more than the "mainstream" type or the "Rap" of Black Metal, and I can't believe there was a brief moment in time I listened to this band...

It is a known fact though that these women get raped daily if they are not protected by a husband and maybe some of these women do not want children at all BUT this is not our problem. Fuck em.

Lets just boycott Africa and pretend they don't even exist then see how long they last on there own. No foreign aid, no television commercials , no videos on rain forests, lets just completely isolate ourselves from them,NO IMMIGRATION, no contact whatsoever. Oh and spray the poor crime ridden areas with agent orange.

Scourge, i encourage you further to re listen to Vukolak. It is a personal favorite of mine and is tied with Az-I-Dahak for myself(also another great album, thanks DLA!). I had a hard time digesting it at first but after re listening to it the second time under better circumstances, it dug it's hooks in me.

Conservationist, what are you doing buying LP's i thought they were for Dinosaurs?
I personally haven't received any LP's in terrible packaging yet, however Nuclear War Now! has shipped me some "new" LP's in questionable condition. I bought His Majesty At The Swamp reissue( which is terrible) and it had scratches all over the fucking thing. All buyers should tell the seller to make sure they take at least a look at some of the LP's they are sending out of their homes/warehouses/shops.
