Metal / Re: What has metal taught you?

Im much more sensible now than i was maybe a few years back.  I find my thought process much clearer, having better focus on the things that matter to me in life.  I find listening to metal very therapeutic actually.  Now this may contradict what i just said, but i have definently unleashed the Lion within me.  Use your fist and not your mouth.

Its hard to know where to look, when there is a sea of low-quality metal.  It took me at least a few years to find all the good stuff, DLA and Encyclopaedia Metallum helped quite a bit.  I think its fun in a way, looking back comparing old music to the tunes you listen to now.

I was dissapointed when i heard the rest of Sarcofago discography... "The Laws Of Scourge" and "Rotting" are good, but it is not Sarcofago IMO. Nothing tops "DEEEEAAATHRAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH!"

Gore had conceptual value initially, but was quickly commandeered by scrawny dumbdicks and beaten into absurdity by the porno and goregrind genres which are simply ways for miscreants to compensate for feelings of inadequacy towards women.

I agree, that has to be one of the lowest lamest concepts you could possibly write a song about. Classic example "Devourment".

right you are, IMO it is top-notch.  Got the LP in the mail just the other day and i couldnt wait to play it.  I thought it would start with a creepy fucking intro like the shining intro to "The grandmasters sessions"  unfortunatly, no intro, it just kicks off with Black Cum.  I find it really hard to compare to Profanatitas De Domonatia...  They sound nothing alike.  If you have heard the first three tracks (black cum etc.) its gives a good impression as to what the rest of the album sounds like.  The atmosphere of this album takes me to a black swamp with thick goopey bubbles popping at the surface with thunderous clouds above, absolutely no colour just shades of black is all i can think of.  best song of the record  IMO has to be "Smashing Religious Fucking Statues"

I wish you could place your hand upon an old tree, and see what it has seen and lived through.
