Ulver; I disregarded this band after hearing Nattens Madrigal quite a while ago, and have recently seem them fellated as THE best band around. Anyone here got anything to say about them?

Funny... when they came to Mexico i worked as a roadie for them and they were pretty cool...

Pro-Aryan activism does not necessarily involve enmity toward other ethnic groups.

read the lyrics to 'tyrants of the damned'

Therion - Tyrants Of The Damned lyrics

Dark age, war
Tyrants
Veils of death
Tyrants of the damned
No meaning we saw
Believers of war
They had thirsts of gore
A third reich
Built by bricks of hate
Soon to fall
Just like their fates
Lunacy
Distortions of their minds
Sick believes
To raise the arian race
Thoughts of hate
A nazi mode of thoughts
The scums are dead
And we don't see their reich
No meaning we saw
With this big war
A power of hate
That mankind creates

DM: My son (Justis) plays guitar in the band at the school he goes to. He goes to a Christian Academy and he plays in the worship band there. Which, go figure, Dave Mustaine's kid's playing worship songs! Which I'm very thrilled about, because when he was born, all I wanted was him to be able to know God's word, and be a black belt in the martial arts style that I've been training in, so he could take care of himself and if he's meant to die that he would go to Heaven.

He also offered less cretinous advice:

"Whatever it is that you learn how to play, learn how to play it slowly first because then your motor skills will grasp it. "

Feldgrau - Mechanized Misanthropy

One of the few awake mental acts in metal of late, Feldgrau "Mechanized Misanthropy" is a cross between doomish black metal and ambient industrial music from former Angelcorpse members. Surprisingly, it has a far greater range of mood and dimension than Angelcorpse, and seems one of the brighter lights in an increasingly dark, repetitive, and low-brow stupid metal genre of late.

From another thread:

Most of the original romanticist writers referenced occultism and fantasy as much as anything else. The most recent generations in Europe have tended toward naturalism, but as that becomes hackneyed, different permutations are emerging.

Arguably, Tolkien is a romanticist, although it's hard to pick out the literature from the (poorly edited) fantasy writing.

"Crimson Massacre's music is a marriage of the avant-technicality of Acerbus, the flowing melodic textures of At The Gates, and the musical structuring of Bach."

I fucking hate whoever came up with the word "ideology" for this topic, it should be "mindset" or "spirit" or something.

For one to have an ideology, one must be an ideologue.

Most are not ideologues, but are motivated by self-interest, thus their "ideology" is better termed as "self-image"

perhaps we should start an international network of secondhand cd buying and mailing to each other.

A few thoughts:

1) I wanted to start a metal collective for this reason. No metalheads could get their shit together - big surprise.

2) Sharing the MP3s is a good start. The hub is the best place, as it's not just a metal fetus central; there's classical, ambient, folk etc.

3) Nothing wrong with CD trading.

4) Also remember to send any rare, OOP recordings in dub form to:

Metal / Immolation
« on: June 23, 2005, 06:59:04 PM »
The last of the old school... and continuing. If they have a fault, perhaps, it's trying too hard to be current and not enough of the guitary/compositional mystery magic seen on the second album. Yet still strong: one of the few death metal bands left that delivers an impressive presence alongside music for the brain.

Excellent fansite with complete information:
http://www.everlastingfire.com/

"What’s kept Immolation going all these years? We love what we do, plain and simple. It hasn’t been the easiest road to travel down and for almost 18 years... sometimes I think we certainly must be nuts, but then there is nothing else I would rather be doing. That includes every aspect of what we do, from writing, to recording, to rehearsing, to touring and traveling and meeting people all over the world. I stop and think about how fortunate we are to still be doing this and to still really enjoy it and that’s all that matters in the end."
