Metal / Metal bassist shoots self, wife after Iraq
« on: August 05, 2005, 01:52:52 PM »
Stephen S. Sherwood, former bassist for Colorado heavy metal band IMMORTAL DOMINION (web site, MySpace.com page), shot and killed his wife before turning the gun on himself Wednesday (August 3), nine days after returning to their Fort Collins home from a tour in Iraq, according to the Associated Press.

When Sherwood joined the Army a year and a half ago, the former musician was "long-haired and tattooed and about the furthest thing from a military man you could imagine," a neighbor says.

When he came home on leave from Iraq last winter, the difference was dramatic: "Not only had he put on a lot of weight, he was real bulked up and had shaved his long hair and looked like an MP," neighbor Steve Johnson said.

Adorno, Marcuse and all the marxist crap from frankfurt allways put things in these ways: either you´re engaged in the revolutionary liberation psyco-social (whatever migth it be) or you are walking blindly through the cultural industry.

Isn't all Marxism like that? You're either with us, or against THE PEOPLE, therefore an enemy of the state. I think American conservatives like G.E.W. Bush are retarded, but Marxism is just as dumb.

i agree with other. punk rock (GG allin included) is a childish purgative.

Punk rock is not hardcore, but clearly metal is a musical improvement.

Emo is total shit, and that includes almost all metalcore.

I like the classic bands.

Hardcore punk:
GBH, Minor Threat, Discharge, Black Flag, The Exploited, the Germs

DRI, COC, Cryptic Slaughter, Fearless Iranians From Hell, dead horse, bad brains

And some punk rock:
Ramones, Skrewdriver

Can someone summarize this thread into a page of names so we don't have to read through seven pages of discussion?

And so you can laugh at me:

The Beatles -> AC/DC - > Exploited, Discharge, Minor Threat, Black Flag, Sick of It All -> DRI -> Slayer -> Metallica -> Massacra, Morbid Angel, Deicide, Sarcofago, Sodom

No ideas who published it, but it's a reasonable bootleg.

Metal / Re: Rigor Mortis - original lineup - live in Ft Wo

The Dallas show is now confirmed for October 22nd at the Galaxy Club in Deep Ellum.  This will be the first show of the week of reunion shows around Texas.  This was the venue we played at many times back then when it was called the Theater Gallery.  So lots of wild memories associated with Rigor Mortis at this place.  Here is the link to keep up with details about tix and directions etc.... http://www.galaxyclub.com

As I mentioned before... Gammacide and now Rotting Corpse are confirmed as support for the Ft. Worth show on October 29th at the Axis.  http://www.axisfortworth.com

Mike Scaccia is also selling a couple of his guitars and basses.  If anyone is interested in buying one.... send Bruce Corbitt <brucecorbitt@yahoo.com> an e-mail.

Varathron MP3s

"One of the first of the rising Greek black metal scene to emerge, Varathron took slow styled and architectural riffs and bounced them off a more rock beat than most black metal bands would use. Never far too complex the band evokes comparison to Rotting Christ or Samael."
