Chasm / Re: Hair
« on: October 24, 2007, 12:39:20 AM »
I really don't care about my hair.
I use to have it short but at the age of thirteen(now seventeen), i stopped caring about how i looked in other peoples views because it is irrelevant to me.
Sure, i have to comb it everday to keep knots out but i think its worth saving a bit of money and time doing stupid things with my hair.
I just stopped getting my hair cut because there is no proper reason for me to get it cut.

I find it really hard to get my hands on good books because living in New Zealand its more expensive to get things imported so i started playing games.

These were the usual games that everyone plays on their playstations( except final fantasy, i cant stand it) but these got boring fast and i thought that there had to be better games.

I started looking through the internet and came up with a game genre that inspired such things as Diablo, diablo II and other games like that. These are called rouge-likes(because they are along the lines of a game called rouge) these games were normally set around crawling through dungons and distroying orcs and golbins ect.

They are normally set up with dungon and dragon rules and they are really hard to learn to play because a command could take you pressing four buttons at once.Just like diablo the dungons and weapons are randomly generated everytime you start a new game.

But they are fun and are made by small groups of developers that have been making the same game for over 20 years and most of them are free to download at anytime. I think alot of people here who play games might enjoy downloading some of these. I will just put some of the ones i found that are good down here.

Ancient Domains of Mystery:

Ragnarok (not the online stupid rpg):

Angband:

The UnReal World:

These games are hard and could take you months to get a charcter anywhere, enjoy.

Chasm / Games for the metal community.

I listen to alot of metal, its one of the things i enjoy.
But i also like to play alot of games, but im really selective in what I play.

I really enjoy old rpg games, really old ones before the creation of graphics, where the character is like a symbol like a @. i really like these old games because their not trying to impress you with there graphics and they have very little story line normally you just adventure into the wild and have so much freedom.
A game i enjoy in this was is called "The UnReal world" where your character is a part of a finish clan and would have to survive in the wild by improving your skills and catching fish and building shelters ect.
Other newer games are the Elder scrolls series.

I was just wondering if anyone else in the metal communtiy loves to play games and if their as selective as i am in their choices.

Certain people want to learn about a better style of music. But some people Just will never understand that metal is an actual art form, they will always think its a simple primitive style of music that anyone can play. Guys in my music class are making a spoof deathmetal band, im so dissapointed.

I agree that the last couple of years have been very bad for death metal and this will most likely be the stereotypical  Death metal band .

If its just the normal predicable death metal i do not think i will listen to it.I also have to say they speak about there music in a very primitive manner.

when you enter a musical genre like black metal you should not just go "where going to sound just like a black metal band!!" because your not. it is not sounding like a black metal band that makes youa black metal band.

I find cradle of filth to fill the sterotype of a goth kid and make black metal look bad. There music has no original concept of moving the genre on, but just filling the gap with crap is not the solution to this answer.

"Actually he is right. Just because their music isn't true black, does that mean their lyrics are shit? What about those 'tr00 kvlt' bands that sing about hail satan 666 fuck god...very intelligent."

Satian was used as a symbol in early black metal, for he was a person that carved his own path. not just to bash godand be 'satanic' but as  black metal moved on you got stupid nu-metal bands taking this seriously an example would be slipknot and cradle of filth this is repeditive and boring move on.

anyone influenced by these two bands need to think again.
