This is the attitude I've heard from the old punks I know. I think however that the Dead Kennedys were the Cradle of Filth of punk hardcore...

Discharge. That's all there is to it. But Discharge was influenced by metal bands in the late 1970s, like Motorhead. So death metal created itself.
