Metal / Venom's satanism = christianity
« on: March 05, 2006, 06:52:15 PM »
Quote from Crono on an interview at Braveworlds:
Quote
The whole point of being a Satanist is not running a round attacking people and being an idiot. That's where the Norwegian guys got it all wrong. Burning churches has nothing to do with Satanism, really. ...One of the laws is responsibility to the responsible. That's so easy to understand. Walk down the street and bother nobody. If somebody stands in your way, tell them to move. If they don't move, destroy them. How easy it that to understand? Live you own life, indulgence instead of abstinence.

Translation- don't be proactive. Don't take a stand for or against anything until it's personally wronged you, never mind trying to enact any positive change upon the world, because that might infringe upon somebody's rights.

Seems quite defeatist to me, and, dare I say it, very christian.

The blurring of the lines between metal and Britney Spears has been made further apparent, thanks to Roadrunner's propaganda zine's "hottest chicks in metal" article.

I'm not quite certain what I think yet... I'm a bit skeptical at the moment to the new direction he's taking.  It seems like its aimed more towards what the current trends in BM are.

Metal / Morpheus Descends reforming
« on: February 25, 2005, 09:30:26 PM »
This is perhaps old news, but Morpheus Descends is reforming; I don't have any actual web sites backing it up, but I've heard constant mention of a new album coming out this year.

Metal / Adramelech?
« on: December 25, 2004, 05:48:24 PM »
Supposedly they recorded an album in 2002 that hasn't been released... is there any hope of this thing ever seeing the light of day, or is it forever to be owned but not released by some tiny as fuck label?

Metal / Immolation video
« on: December 13, 2004, 04:50:19 PM »
http://www.vs-webzine.com/mp3/IMMOLATION-Harnessing_Ruin.mpg

The video is utterly retarded, but the song doesn't seem bad. It goes back more to the "Close to a World Below" style in many ways, although it seems to have the melodic developments of UC, particularly in the lead guitars.

The production doesn't support this sort of thing at all, but that could also just be shitty encoding of the audio aspect of the mpg.

Metal / The Chasm- The Spell of Retribution
« on: October 15, 2004, 02:59:07 AM »
From www.enterthedeathcult.com :
Quote
The Spell of Retribution to be Unleashed on CD and Limited edition Vinyl on November 16th 2004.

There are two mp3s avaliable here http://www.enterthedeathcult.com/UntitledFrameset-3.htm - Fortress is the whole song, Conjuring the New Apocalyps isn't.  Judging from Fortress, this one won't be quite as good as Deathcult was, but better than Conjuration; it's got the more dramatic structuring that Deathcult had, with a riffing style closer to Conjuration.
