Rip the sacred flesh
Sodomize the holy asshole
Drink the red blood of the mother of earth
Masturbation on the dead body of christ
The king of Jews is dead
and so are the lies
Vomit on the host of Heaven
Masturbate on the throne of God
Break the seals of angels
Drink the sweet blood of Christ
Taste the flesh of the priest
Sodomize holy nuns
The king of Jews is a liar
The Heavens will burn
Dethrone the son of God
God is dead
Holyness is gone
Purity is gone
Prayers are burned
Covered in black shit
Rape the holy ghost
Unclean birth of Jesus Christ
Heaven will fall
Fuck the church
Fuck Christ
Fuck the Virgin
Fuck the gods of Heaven
Fuck the name of Jesus

Wow, that version of the title track is awful.  Dropping the treble to 0 and re-recording the drums and solos to be flashier is a terrible idea.  Also, I have no idea who is doing the vocals on the re-recorded parts, but they're no where near as good as the originals.    Hendrik Mobus' singing voice had a haunting nostalgic quality that suited these tracks much better much better.

If the youtube sample is to be believed, this is a downgrade.

No real surprise, given what Absurd has become.

Strike the words Feminism, Diversity and Multiculturalism from your vocabulary. Never criticize those concepts again.

Secular humanism type ideas that are valid - keep God in the history books, out of the classroom and court room. Don't be assholes to people who are different. All human cultures in their own context are valid and deserve to exist.
Yes, Black Metal is all about being one big happy family and loving each other.

Edit: Update. Oddly this reminds me a lot of early Unleashed.
Not odd at all; the harmonization techniques are pure Swedish metal.

My copy came in the mail today.  Aside from complaints about the packaging (so, we have a giant cardboard sleeve to hold another cardboard sleeve?  WTF), it'll take more listens to say anything useful about it.  It's definitely not Joined in Darkness part 2, and it's definitely a more overtly musical Demoncy.

According to the emails I've gotten, pre-orders were mailed yesterday, so it's not too surprising if someone has a copy by now.

Partially to annoy Ymir:

In other news we should have a release date for the new Demoncy no later than Feb 22nd. As of right now we are hoping to have it out and shipping by the first full week of March.

Metal / new Angel Witch coming
« on: February 07, 2012, 03:19:36 PM »
Angel Witch has a new album coming out soon.

Live performance of a song from it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpY6g8TnamI

I'm torn on this.  On one hand, a band that old getting back together can't possibly be good.  On the other hand, this song is much better than expected, and, at least on a first listen, the quality is comparable to the first full length...

I don't know if I can actually name 10 albums if we're going with the "stuff you actually do listen to" criteria.

Best attempt:
Morbid Angel- Altars of Madness, Blessed Are the Sick
Autopsy- Severed Survival, Mental Funeral
Profanatica/Havohej- Enemy of Virtue, Disgusting Blasphemies Against God, Profanatitas De Domonatia, Dethrone the Son of God
Immolation- Failures for Gods
Incantation- Onward to Golgotha

. Apparently he broke his four-tracker and called it quits, but what the hell kind of excuse is that?
Do you actually believe that?  I certainly don't.  It's an excuse that fits in perfectly with the "we just recorded with whatever shit was easy and convenient" line of Darkthrone and the like from the early '90s, which was necessary in those times because an appearance of effort would have ruined much of the overall aesthetic; it needed to seem feral and off-the-cuff, when it was anything but.

Any news on this?  Early January has come and gone, and I still don't have my pre-ordered copy, and haven't heard anything about it.

Metal / New Asphyx track
« on: December 16, 2011, 04:15:33 AM »
http://www.cvltnation.com/exclusivecvlt-nation-streaming-asphyx-deathhammer/

EDIT: After listening to the song, my impression is that this is Asphyx going the "Hail of Bullets" route.  It's "brutal" and catchy, but it's essentially pop music; compared to previous Asphyx output, which told epic stories with a simple, bludgeoning language like The Iliad translated for middle-schoolers, this is a disappointment.
