I've always thought Varg should have kept Et Hvitt Lys Over Skogen as the last track on Hvis lyset tar oss.  Tomhet works much better on this new album.  It finally an ambient track on an ambient album.

It goes deeper than just death metal.  This style of songwriting plagues all forms of rock music at one point in their development.  It explains the massive popularity songs like "Free Bird" and "Stairway to Heaven" in the mid-70s.  Metallica and Nirvana just stumbled upon an updated version of it.

I got hassled by a cop today for listening to Slayer.   I had Show No Mercy playing in my earbuds full blast when I was biking to work today.  I had made it all the way to Cryonics when a cop car pulled me over.

The pig gave me a little speech how it is dangerous to bike on a busy road without having full use of both of your ears.  I just nodded along and agreed with him until he left.  I got off with just a warning.  Getting a ticket for listening to Slayer would have sucked.

Classical music is the best thing to get on vinyl.  Tons of it got printed back in the format's heyday and now nobody wants to buy it.  It makes it cheap and abundant.

It's nice to finally hear Tomhet recorded on something other than a Casio.  It's probably the only song he's actually made better by redoing it.

Does anyone know if it is easier to contract HIV/AIDS if you a pitcher or a catcher?  I need this for a theory I'm working on.

Dying genres of music give forth a stench not unlike a decomposing corpse.  The primary difference is that they attract idiots instead of vultures.

Humility is a good thing when it counteracts hubris, but like virtue, it has its limits.  An excess of humility can also lead to self deception.  It can lead oneself to undervalue his own abilities.

Second chances are usually a good thing to be liberal with.  Third chances usually are not.

It's fairly hard to find unless you already know it exists.

On a related note, I just saw the link for "Books" category in the sidebar for the first time.  It seems like a good (albeit small) resource for books related to music in particular.
