I think I recommended a switch to a magnet link torrent last time this happened with megaupload.  It is a shame I have been too busy to get one up.  A few dedicated seeders of the whole library and we wouldn't have to ever worry about reuploading again.

Any of Manilla Road's post-2000 albums.  I'm thinking about re-uploading their 80s stuff because there is only one working link on their page.

In doing that, McPherson is fitting into the pattern of millions of Californians who have snubbed the parties and become nonpartisans.

More than one-fifth of registered voters, 21.3%, are listed with no party preference, according to the Secretary of State. That's double the 10.7% in 1996 and more than quadruple the 5% in 1972.

In the last 16 years, the GOP's slice of the electorate has fallen from 37% to 30.2%. The Democrats' share also has declined, but less precipitously — from 47.1% to 43.4%.

Unfortunately, California really is that liberal because it is an extremely urban state.  I grew up in rural California and a good majority of the population was moderate/leaned-conservative but there were also a sizable amount transplant citizens from nearby cities who kept their political beliefs after they moved.  You ended up a population that still was slightly liberal.  Most of the people who would have considered themselves conservatives in the past are now calling themselves independent in order to appeal to the transplanted urbanites.

I wonder why so many good artists these days run out of things to say after a few albums.  It is not like Wagner or Beethoven only had productive careers for five years in their mid-20s.  Many great artists continue evolve and have important things to say well into old age.

I've been reading the Byock translation of The Volsung Saga recently.  As a translation, it is fairly faithful to the source and clearly written, though perhaps less artful because it largely ignores the verse structure of the saga.  It also contains a good deal of insight and explanation in the translation notes, which is useful if you haven't read much Norse saga before.
