Interzone / Piracy
« on: October 21, 2007, 07:42:32 PM »
I propose that we all become pirates. Not pirates per se but we will attack ships on the sea. We could easily cripple the biggest countries by blocking their imports. Most ships travel through the same narrow routes which can easily be blocked. It only takes a small group of people to take over a ship since most crews of ships are unarmed. Small ships can't be detected by radar because they are too low; therefore, the ship is easy to sneak up on. I'm sure we could do something to stop world trade. Rather than take over all the ships which is near impossible, we can take over a few large ships and block the trade routes. Perhaps we can just capture a certain type of vessel(like oil large oil carrying vessels perhaps) and hold them. This will cause a lot of harm to countries like the U.S., perhaps crippling it. This requires a lot more thinking and planning, but if we can gather money and supplies for this(which isn't so much since all we need is some food and guns and small boats) it may be feasible. Of course recruiting people might be a problem. Perhaps we could pay mercenaries. The beauty of this is that the ships can't be attacked because it would destroy the cargo. The ships must be boarded and it's occupants seized. Luckily, preventing boardings can easily be done. If anything we can sink the ships, it accomplishes the same goal. We can even blow up the oil ships and damage nearby ships that might be nearby trying to stop us. I won't bother with any more details since this is very complex thing and i believe i have adequately explained the general idea of this. Maybe perhaps even within ten years we might have the resources and adequately planning to do this.

The statistics for nazi.org says that most of the visitors have doctorates but most of the visitors make under 60000 or under 30000 dollars.

The graph showing the amount of visitors is promising. Too bad it's probably complete bull.

Most of the smarter people on the site usually make sarcastic comments or stupid comments. It's funny when people agree. Usually most people don't get that it's sarcastic. It's kind of hard to spot sarcasm in writing, especially when most people that go to online forums are retarded. I can spot sarcasm basically by knowing that the people making the posts are smart. Like if an admin says something incredibly stupid, you know they're not serious.

Where are the admins? Are they on vacation or do they just don't care anymore? This site is important and threads like this make it look bad. I know a while back this thread would've been deleted the day it was made or the day after. So what's happening?

Most tv i watch is documentaries and i almost never watch movies. I'd prefer to keep the knowledge from the documentaries.

I don't understand metal rip. I saw all those movies you mentioned and i thought they were 100% crap. They're supposed to portray the ideals of these civilizations but I could get the same thing out of history texts. The only thing that could redeem the movies would be good battle sequences and lots of action but there wasn't. I hate these ancient battling armies movies. They just show individual killings instead of showing the battle so you can't be immersed in it. You're supposed to feel sorry for the people and be moved, but I guess that's why i don't enjoy the movies because I couldn't care less about their personal plights. Historical accuracy shouldn't matter in movies unless they're documentaries. Facts are skewed to achieve many things in movies. In practice it matters because most people are ignorant fools and take movies as fact it damages them. But other than that, historical inaccuracy should not make the movie un-enjoyable.

BTW, I saw the movie 300 in it's entirety at a movie theater and did not like it.

What do you listen to then. I've been moving away from metal myself too. I've been listening to a lot of EBM/Industrial music. I think this is the only genre that's still making good music. A good portion of these bands and their fans have the metal spirit. Although a lot of is more punk inspired than metal inspired, the music is still decent and their is musical talent in the musicians. This genre will probably usurp metal. Well, it might have already, this genre is still mostly underground. Well at least in the states. I know this genre is pretty popular in Europe.

I think all hessians should become engineers or architects or something along those lines. Horticulturist, mathematician, chemist, doctor; these are all good careers. It has to be something useful. When society finally collapses, we'll have to be able to survive and rebuild a new civilization. This'll happen within the next century i expect, so it'll help to be prepared. It is our responsibility. Right now I'm studying physics and chemistry. I'm probably going to become a physicist, but the chemistry is good to know. If money is a problem, which it shouldn't be since getting a scholarship is so easy, this site might be for you. http://www.eliteskills.com/free_education/?foo=x
It has video recordings of many courses plus many other things on the right side. These are great introductory courses. As far as I've seen there may be some more advanced courses but I haven't seen every single recording. http://www.calphysics.org/pop_articles.html
The above site has many physics articles if you're into that.

What about Judas Priest and Black Sabbath? There are many popular non-hair metal bands that are popular.

Cannibal Corpse had an album in the top 100 at one point. It might've been in Europe. I know I saw that somewhere. Don't say that Cannibal Corpse doesn't count because it's still death metal despite poor quality.

I started out on Linkin Park. I never truly liked them, but it was the first time I heard a distorted guitar. After that I began searching for other music with a similar sound. After a while I found metal and loved it. The rest is inconsequential. Point is that I started with stupid shit and found the better music through it. I had to start with softer music in order to appreciate the sound. It took me a while to get into death metal because I could not tolerate the blast beats. After a while I somehow adjusted my hearing to like it. You can't just play Suffocation for someone and expect them to like it. You need to work them up. You can teach them the ideals of the music though even though they cant' stand the music.

Quote
Just because you cannot appreciate metal without understanding the ideas expressed within it does not make it a reality for anyone other then yourself.

Metal is rebellious and aggressive music. You can not ever enjoy it unless you are rebellious and aggressive. I should've said that you need to believe the ideals not understand them. My mistake.

Quote
And know many who do not really understand why they enjoy music nor do they relate music to any thoughts or ideas beyond the music itself but can still be truly moved when they hear the music that made Barber famous.

People listen to music because it's popular at the moment and they want to belong. They say do not understand but that's the truth.

Nobody can ever appreciate good metal without first understanding the ideas behind it. It's impossible and one can not be converted that way. I first got into metal because I realized that my thoughts weren't as rare as I thought and there were others out there who hated the world as much as I did. Eventually my appreciation grew beyond just liking it because the hate, but if I didn't hate the world so much and desired to kill everyone in it so much I would've never started listening to metal. Although metal did help me grow up from these simple thoughts. If you ever want to get people into metal you have to begin with Pantera and the like then build up from there. Bands like suffocation require much adjusting of the way one listens to music to appreciate and listening to similar music that is easier to understand helps in the transition.

Comedy is a type of art. It can be. Same way there's stupid and smart metal, there's comedy that's art and comedy that's stupid(Dane cook, Carlos Mencia brand of comedy). You can appreciate comedy and learn from it. Most comedy on television is just stupidity though. South park is generally shit anyhow. Most of it is just stupid shit. I used to like it when i was thirteen because it wasn't like the other shows and was based more in reality, which seems to be why most people like the show. So it has nothing more going for it than novelty.

Wow Beesley. Pantera were not original. They ripped off Exhorder. You should know this already and you would've known if you'd bothered reading the thread. Death got bad after a few albulms. Obviously that argument is wrong. Finally, Nobody said they sucked because they were blues inclined, I think. Metal is very heavily influenced by blues music. We all know this. It's common knowledge. You're just a moron. Please ban this kid.
