Metal / Zyklon-B Producitons
« on: January 21, 2013, 09:14:55 AM »
Everyone I've spoken to has told me it is basically a gamble to deal with that label/person. A simple google search will yield a lot of forum threads about Zyklon B Productions being a rip-off.

Seeing that Legion of Doom's Summoning of Shadows was voted Best of 2012, can any of you admins who bought the cd tell me about your experience??? I'm dying to buy this album, god damn it.

Or anyone for that matter.

Thank you :)

Interzone / baroque composer recommendations

I love these harpsichord pieces by Legion of Doom. Can you recommend me any composers that you think I might like based on these songs below? Thank you

Stutthof / Acherontas: Rapidshare, Blogspot, Megaupload

Stutthof / Acherontas

Masters of the serpentine force, Stutthof and Acherontas make an exquisite mix of Emperor/Gorgoroth-like majestic Mediterranean black metal.

Stutthof - And Cosmos from Ashes to Dust (Mediafire)

Acherontas - Tat Tvam Asi (Mediafire)

Metal / Dimmu Borgir

Just for fun.

Here they are....executing their reality-suspending classic in '95: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTwzLyNIziQ
There HAS to be a current band out there who evokes the same 'melodic and sweeping' atmosphere...but who?

Interzone / How to get brutally strong
« on: February 10, 2012, 10:17:49 PM »
There is more to life than whining about why black metal sucks today. A few tips on how to get you out of that chair you're plastered on:

1. Buy "Starting Strength - Basic Barbel Training" by Mark Rippetoe

2. Read the book THOROUGHLY.

3. Join the Starting Strength Forums. Here, you will ask questions about anything you are unclear of and you will post videos of yourself executing the exercises. LOL, seems weird but just as you think you have the technique and form down...there's a good chance you certainly will not :)

Set aside plenty  of time to do your homework for the next several months as you attempt the simple 3-day/week strength program discussed in the book. The bio-mechanics/physics of the squat, deadlift, over-head press, bench press, etc are extensively covered. There is also a section on how to set-up your beginner's program which again, is NOT complicated. Even if you have NO experience lifting weights, there's an article on that too. Three main exercises per session, good luck.

So, is this dude behind it all? His Numinous Way writings do resemble selected ONA documents....Your thoughts?

Interzone / Our global monetary system

I think this is a pretty solid documentary which explains how money is used as debt: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EewGMBOB4Gg

And I learned a little more today after watching it - I've realized how important it is to teach my little nephew into becoming a well-rounded, exceptional human being. If our system were to ever collapse during his lifetime, I want to be assured that he will be ready for it.

Do the same for your children and/or young family members - educate them. This documentary is a good start for the public.

Metal / Why not create your own metal music?
« on: June 28, 2011, 11:43:51 AM »
Question: Since metal music has been pretty fucked up for many years now, then why not create a rejuvenated style yourselves? I'm directing this question to the Anus staff.

Metal / Letters from the 90s
« on: March 14, 2011, 09:39:19 PM »
Who was fortunate enough to have lived through the glorious early 1990s and able to have created "penpals" with the bands at that time? Can any of you upload interesting letters?

Me being 24 y/o - - of course, I was much too young at the time!

However, thanks to the older fellows that Ive befriended, I was at many times, given the chance to look through their old Wild Rags magazines (historic!) and also read some really cool letters from individuals  such as Samoth from Emperor and Holocausto from Beherit, and if I remember correctly, a couple of dudes from Mortuary (Mexico). Exciting stuff I must add.

I should also mention that most of my older acquaintances were lucky enough to have visited the Wild Rags headquaters during its prime era of the early 90s it is primarily this reason these old Los Angeles metal heads were given exposure to the early Norwegian Black Metal bands.

I should also add that the Wild Rags Store still stands! The sign is there in the front entrance with a bunch of boxes and old metal posters still inside however, the building has been abandoned for probably close to 10 years already!

Metal / Old Emperor, Dimmu Borgir, Satyricon, and Kvist.
« on: March 05, 2011, 07:57:33 PM »
Lunar Aurora is probably the only band (or at least that I know of..) that has a very similar atmosphere to the early works of Emperor, Dimmu Borgir, Satyricon, and even the classic Kvist album (imo). I should probably include that three-song Ancient e.p. (the one with the troll on it) in this category for it is also a fine example of that, you know..."excessively dramatic and Romantic black metal style".

So, do you guys know where I'm getting at? If ya do, then I'm looking for any other bands that have this potential. And if you could name some, would be cool.

Strong Lifts 5x5. www.stronglifts.com

This is no silly body building workout where you have to go do a lengthy four to five day split that doesn't really get you STRONG. Strong Lifts 5x5 is an old school approach, similar to what Arnold, Lou the Hulk, and Franco Coloumbo did for many years; intense powerlifting. The proof is that you need a strong base before even touching bodybuilding, which primarily deals with the overall proportion/structure of the body. I love the website because it defuncts many myths about supplements and it's bullshit marketers and especially those popular muscle building magazines that say you can get "ripped" in 12 weeks. Sorry, can't get "ripped" unless you have adequate muscle mass in the first place.

Since the summer, I've switched from a silly body buildiing routine that just left me rather sore and pumped looking to this simple three day split of Squats, Deadlifts, and Benching three times per week with assistance exercises like sit ups, pull ups, dips. Believe me. You will get strong.

Metal / Zemial - NYKTA

ZEMIAL will release their new album via Hell's Headbanger's.

Their new song, Under the Arms of Hades, is simply outrageous. I particularly like the Varathron-ish riff that occurs in the middle and the cosmic voyage that concludes the track.

"An FDA advisory panel discusses whether the [salmon] would be safe to eat but declines to vote." - L.A. Times

As a biochem major, I aggressively disagree with altering the genes of species this large and unleashing it into the wild.

So, they are going to decide by Tuesday and in the meantime, I highly reccommend taking action.

..And don't be surprised if the advisory panel members' jobs are at risk if they decide to vote against the issue. The FDA is highlly aggressive with their lobbying.

They say you truly learn your algebra skills until you take a calculus class. And it is true. I've learned some cool wacky algebraic manipulations in my CAL II class. Hard stuff man.

PLease, share your stories
