Maniac's vocals were good on Deathcrush [EP].

They were even better on Wolfs Lair Abyss.  (That bands best work, by the way).

A lot of people seem to dog him, but Maniac of Mayhem has excellent vocals.

And then there's Burzum. No one can match him.

Jason Becker better than Robert Fripp?

What the hell were you thinking when you typed that?

Andres Segovia, even dead, makes every other guitarist look like an amateur.

Just read the lyrics to Morbid Angel's "Blessed are the Sick".

This guy won't be forgotten. Anyone who creates an album as innovative and powerful as "Dimension Hatross" will be remembered.

Hope the guy gets better.

"This is the kind of stuff Opeth and Emperor should have been doing. If you like guitar playing, it's great"

Assuming these two bands had the ability, which they don't.

"Also up until about 13 I still listened to everything on cassette, haha. I wasn't your average kid."

I used cassettes all the way through High School. I guess even at that young of an age, I wasn't happy with change. Plus, with cassettes, you didn't have to worry about scratches, and carrying a big cd player around would have been annoying.

Hurrah for cynicism   ::)

I'm too lazy to go back and check, but I was praising "Goatlord" earlier in this thread. I think it's their fourth best album, behind TH, UAFM, and SJ. You can't listen to "Green Cave Float" and not get goosebumps.

It's a nice overview of the black metal scene in norway at the time, but I agree, it becomes ridiculously stupid with Varg's ufo theories.

Yeah, I guess it wouldn't hurt to read it.

This band has been slowly backsliding since "Close to a World Below". I don't hold out much hope for this band in the future.
