This is the first-ever collection of essays by Pentti Linkola, a controversial figure in his native Finland, to appear in English. It is available in both softcover and hardback editions. Linkola's interest is in the environmental crisis, but unlike most authors on the subject, he does not propose simple solutions such as recycling or electric cars. Rather, for Linkola, the root of the problem lies in the nature of modern civilisation itself, and only by a complete transformation of it can there be any hope for survival.

In a world of pretend progresS, difficult reality gets some widespread exposure for a change.

Overpopulation is catching on.  A commenter posted a link on an Amerika article the other day indicating as much.  How it will be implemented or how it will "all go down" is a different question altogether, but people are beginning to wrap their heads around the basic idea.

People are getting sick of the low standards we have put on ourselves. Our society has bloated and is useless and that's pissing off anyone who still has red blood. Time to thin the herd!
