Massacra - Final Holocaust, a question

Does anyone here know what piece of music is used as an introduction to the album? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Got me man but sounds like early, pre-classical music, but I am not an expert maybe we should post an mp3 to a classical music group!

If someone would post the album for download, I could hear for myself and take a stab at it. :D

Seriously, post the damn thing.

I saw the piece being performed on television a couple of years ago. There were many mentions of the 'fatherland' in the subtitles, and it seemed to be about going to war.

It's strongly reminiscent of Verdi's later operas, though probably a French composer from the same period, like Massenet, is responsible.

No, it isn't Verdi, and as death metal black metal says, it's not the Marseillaise. I think it's Gounod's "Faust" ; but in any case, it's French. I heard it on television played during some kind of ceremony.

Yes, it is the 'Soldier's Chorus' from Gounod's Faust.

...I rather enjoy the music that comes after it as well.

My mistake then.
