Non-meaningless social activities

I totally agree with this. This is the stem of what I observe in the emo/goth/scene people here in Boston, that they set up a social devision in their mind, then act as if it exists, then whine when it comes true. people, for the most part, are alienated proportionally to the amount they alienate the world around them.

Are you saying that they intentionally alienate themselves from the world so that  upon rejection they can seek pity from their fellow emo/goth/cocksuckers?

To quote Aristotle  - "He who is unable to live in society,
or who has no need because he is sufficient for himself,
must be either a beast or a god"

As much as we hate the society we live in, our desire to exist necessitates it. It probably  is so because of the fact that we human are very incompetent animals and can hardly survive on our own.

I forgot the person who said this but here it goes

" a man , a man is intelligent. It's the population that is dumb"

Lol, zoos? Are you fucking serious? Underman, like most here. Kill yourself.

Yea, and guess what? I also like the National Geographic channel, along with most nature oriented programs and really enjoy watching Discovery or Animal Planet. I guess I am an underman after all.

In an unrelated story, I have a larger penis than you, could steal your girlfriend, and would supplant you at whatever dead end job you work at within three months. Me > you. You = fail. Kill yourself and become An Hero. EPIC LULZ.

Idiot.

Please. We're not on the metal archives forums here. If you spend a lot of your time on socialization, fine. That's your thing. Keep it to yourself.

Some social activity is probably required, but not an end in itself! There's no "norm" that you could project onto others.

Do what you think must be done and stop worrying so much about what others could be thinking of you.

discussing philosophy/religion/politics with friends (and  showing my fascist tendencies  :P ). But it I get frustrated in many occasions as most of them say the obvious shit or stuff which underlines big differences in our philosophies.

I never asked what people did for fun. Few people have contributed to the purpose of the thread. If you could delete the posts describing people's own social lives, that would be appreciated.

I'm interested in finding options for constructive social activities which build real friendships and don't necessarily involve meaningless conversation or binge drinking.

Hey hey now, let's not be so quick to put down binge drinking. Stumbling around stupid and drunk is a nice break from the pressures of being a misunderstood but intelligent Internet metalhead.

There is a difference between reverence for structural nature and going to a zoo. If you can't see what's wrong with putting a price tag on nature and imprisoning creatures for money, then yes, you are a degenerate, and your genes are probably worthless.

Going to a zoo makes anyone of intelligence depressed.

Instead of watching T.V. about nature and going to see a bad replica of it in a large concrete establishment, try actually going to the forest.

Yeah, because you can see every animal a zoo would have to offer in your local forest.

It's not PETA or clueless internet warriors who are on the front line of conservation. Without zoos and their breeding programs, research and feverous conservation efforts, many species that still exist today would be extinct in both captivity and in the wild. If nobody went to zoos, the above wouldn't be possible. The people who work at and run the respected zoos, aquariums and nature preserves are the last hope for many species that no one else really cares about.

If you don't know that, your genes may still be fine, but you are a product of a loveless marriage of convenience, and thus were the object of scorn and hatred by your mother who never held you, and you probably contracted genital herpes on your rectum at a tender age from your uncle Ted.  But you probably aren't a degenerate, but not by choice, as you would have gladly engaged in brainless socializing in high school, but were the perennial butt of the bullying and pranks from the high school football team, volleyball team, and Spanish club, lacking the necessary social skills to be a degenerate, and thus you are relegated to making tired analogies about subhuman genes on the internet while trying to rationalize your fear of crowds and people by some retarded logic on why zoos suck.

Oh and FYI, I mentioned fishing and camping in my original paragraph. If you had read it clearly you might have known that, but judging from appearances, reading must not be your thing...

Urban Exploration
You work together with the individuals you UE with to get to and into buildings, but once in, the experience for most people is quite personal, photographing and absorbing your surroundings. Taking in the history of the place your exploring too. Being in a group adds to safety, and sometimes you might miss things if you were on your own.

It does bring together people of very different backgrounds, which I quite like in a way. Though there is an element of socializing, for instance we usually go for something to eat or drink after a good explore, its not the same as going out on the piss. The conversation does generally revolve around the explore, but after a while you do get to really know some people, long term UE'rs are passionate and fairly intelligent judging from the people I've met, and I have made some really good friends UrbExin'.
Grr...
