* High quality redux version of MORBID ANGEL’s classic second album ‘Blessed Are the Sick’

* In addition to the original album, the release now boasts a brand new exclusive one hour
documentary discussing the recording and release of the album, and highlighting the band’s
rise from underground heroes to worldwide flagbearers for the Death Metal scene.

* The documentary features new interviews with some band members and crew, and offers up
the most intimate and detailed examination of the period during the recording and
touring of “Blessed are the Sick”.

* American version is a 2-Disc set (CD plus DVD),
European version is single-disc dual-sided(CD/DVD) digipak.

* To celebrate the redux of one of Death Metal’s most important releases, a special limited
edition picture disc vinyl will also be issued, the first time the album has been available
in this format.

* Originally released in 1991, the album elevated the entire scene to a more artistic,
cultured level, taking influences from classical music and art to bring a new hightened
standard to a previously maligned form of music.

I'm sure even Morbid Angel know that BAtS is their crowning achievement. Perhaps Covenant. And if not, it doesn't seem like that kind of attitude.

Trey seemed pretty excited about it whenever it was first released, judging from the interviews that were made at the time. He hasn't denounced it in recent times either, so I'd say it still ranks pretty high in his view.

Excellent news. The greatest Death Metal album just got a little better.  :o)

For your stateside attention, a 'product review' in time for the upcoming US release. You guys aren't getting the digipak, though, but a well decorated CD and DVD.

Awesome news..this album is what got me in love with guys like Mozart and Beethoven!!!
