Rippikoulu Announce North American Tour

Finnish stalwarts Rippikoulu embark on a short North American tour with the likes of Chthe’ilist and Nucleus. While Musta Seremonoa was an enjoyable listen and easily a greater live experience than what copy cat bands like Spectral Voice and Hooded Menace have to offer, the price of admission isn’t probably worth seeing them especially with the two supporting acts known for aping Demilich more than anything else. Hopefully the price is low enough to justify hanging around with friends outside while waiting for Rippikoulu.

How do these bands can write music so horribly bad, but make some beautifully visually on that.

FFS if I knew a Rippikoulu copycat band I’d root for it: Speactral Voice and Hooded aren’t a copycat of them at all, hey have very different atmospheres.

    1. it’s a parody of the riffing style with Abhorrence, early Amorphis and Thergothon being aped for these slow held down power chord sequences that then lead to a simple tremolo picked riff.

hereby this style is designated post-doom.

  3. Flying Kites says:

All of these cities are fantastic places to meet and stab hipsters. The Finnish would really love appreciating how much their bands cause Americans mischief.
